anyone ever had a short shifter break??

i snapped mine today... it was so nice too... and the worst part i was just gently putting it into first and from the ball up was snapped off... so much for shirt shifts... i've heard a lot lately that they are not good for trannies anyways... back to stock for me

just think of the feeling of sitting at a major intersection and the light is about to turn green... you shift into first and your shifter rod snaps before it gets there....

I'd start looking for a screwdriver or antenna rod to stick in there

actually it snapped like right above the ball.... so i just got a cordless drill... and drilled a hole the same size as a screw driver and that was shifting on the way home... couldn't find 5th though... the screw driver would slip out before i could get there.... but oh well... the old shifter is back in now... so i guess thats positive... i was thinking of taking the broken one into crappy and complaining... maybe i can get some money back :thumbs up:

ive read on Hondatech that a lot of the generic type short shifters snap very easily..

currently im using a Del Sol shifter in my EG.. it noticably shorter.. and yet u know its strong b/c its OEM.. u might wnat to look into that.. im sure if u go to a junk yard u can grab one for a couple bux
