Anybody go to the NAIAS?

Great display in Detroit as usual. I went opening weekend (which was a better idea than last years closing weekend).

The new Evo 7 looked great, as well as the STI. They did look impressive, with the huge brakes.

Porsche's Cayenne had unreal brakes, and was a Porsche through and through. BMW had a great display of their whole line up.

GM as always was very interactive, but built for the masses. Cool industrial trucks mind you, on display. The new GTO was there, and granted it looks like a Grand Prix, its whats underneith that counts. The inside is much better from a driver's perspective. A very cool LS6 (Vette Z06 motor), on an engine dyno doing pulls all day was the highlight of the show for me. But, WTF, no Z06, and one Vette on display???

Ford... well... what can you say. Nice trucks, great concept "427", the GT40 (or GT44... whatever), and the Mustang concept looks great. Lets hope they can try again building a car that isn't recalled 11 times, and makes them money.

VW, as always had a classy, informational display. The new Beetle 'vert will be the wife's next car. The R32, unfortunately is *not* coming to Canada.

Audi, RS6 is all I can say.

I encourage those who haven't been yet to get there. It is one of the three largest and best put-together auto-shows in the world, next to LA and Paris.

I'm going to be at the Toronto Show representing the Car Control school I'm an instructor with, so drop by and say hi. "Ian Law, Car Control School" is the name.

I can arrange a car control school at a group rate for this club, if people are interested. We have basic schools (which really aren't basic at all), advanced auto-slalom school and Mosport and Shannonville track days. I'm interested in knowing this club's interest level.
