I didn't think it was legal to drive a rhd automobile in Canada, not 100% though.

http://www.riv.ca/english/html/how_to_import.html

http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/importation/impxus_e.htm

If the vehicle was produced for sale in a country other than the US or Canada and production date is more than 15 years old, the vehicle can be imported into Canada. If not, the vehicle will not be allowed entry into Canada (yah I know there are newer cars imported and on the road in Canada but thats another story)

If you meet the age requirement, the importation process isn't that hard, RIV and Transport Canada and guide you through it, I would start contacting your insurance company and see what it will cost you before you go any further though.

Astroboy good info but if you look at the link they have of the list of admissible vehicles and such it says kit cars newer then 15 years old are not admissible however I know for a fact that tehre 2 companies (can't remember their names) that import kits to Canada and get around that law using some sort of freedom thingy.... ohhh well the link you provided is a great resource....

Your right Jason, with kit cars I've heard of that too. But what I posted applies to manufactured cars that were manufactured for sale in a country other than the US or Canada. I think with Kit cars theres a country of assembly tied to it? There are quite a number of illegally imported cars in Canada and the concequences of getting caught aren't worth it imo, seizing of your car or esp. if you have an insurance claim and the insurance company finds out your car is newer than 15 years old and denies your claim, you could be liable for big $$$.

elite performance, what year car is the one you want to import? this is the deal, every insurance company is a bit different, but basically the car must be 15 years old at least, NO EXCEPTIONS, if it is no modifcations are required unlike in the U.S., and you do not need a "right hand drive" sticker if you have working directional indicators, which means turn signals so your fine, basically you'll need a sactioned apprasail from a stated recognized appraisial company if you are getting collision since the car needs to be assesed a value in case of accident, if you are not getting collision i believe all that is needed is an ontario registration, all the import papers (original, and translated would be good), and a checkpoitn inspection which, lucky for you is free. If you want specifc money info a guy on ******** board just bought an 88 silvia. His name is Edzy, you can probably meet him Dr. INks, he has been there before, pm him for details

Nope, its legal, you gotta put a RHD sticked on the back of the car tho.

If you notice there are some RHD postal trucks, Ive been meaning to ask my postal carrier how hard it is making lefts in a RHD vehicle lol
