For all you SOHC haters
SOHC > DOHC
the sohc put down 281.7whp and 235.6ft-lbs at 19.5psi with a rich as hell air fuel of 8.5:1
the reason for the rich air fuel is switched to rc 310 injectors and im still running the vortech fmu with 12:1 riser....base fuel pressure was 27lbs as low as we could go
heres the setup
d16y7 sohc non-vtec, blueprinted and balanced, bored 30 over
wiseco pistons, eagle rods, arp head studs and rod bolts, balanced polished and knifedged stock crank, cometic head gasket, stock top end with 150k on it, prototype mr gasket intake manifold, custom 3 inch exhaust w apexi dunk muffler, apexi turbo kit with a AX53 B60 P18 ball bearing turbo, apexi fmic and bov, vortech t-rex and fmu, aem regulator, exedy 3 puck, rc 310 injectors, stock ecu for now.....................thats the important stuff
not to shabby for a cute little sohc!! nobody thinks it can make power......dont worry better numbers are on there way......... can u say Accel DFI gen 7 and 550 injectors with gear based boost control and 3 stage nitrous control, custom endyne head build
dynotech is the **** and shane your the man
ps-dont hate the sohc cause it make more power then your dohc
Man I wish I went turbo

there is a big difference between DOHC and SOHC! Anyone have a real CTR engine here? You know it can't run on our street gas right and lowering the grades would not get you 180hp, SIR is all race technology and the recommanded high octane doesn't hurt either.
But you have to realise that the SIR, high compression, it is not likely you can run big boost with high compression piston. DOHC is not as fast as ppl make it to be, it does not matter the HP, it is the time run that counts. We have alot of **** cars now a days with 287hp (factory numbers) and only does 6.2s 0-60, while an 180hp CTR can do it in 5.8s...
That number that Slvr-Bullet posted is impressive for a 1.6L SOHC. You have to know that SOHC is doing two jobs in one. DOHC seperates Intake and Exhaust work ... and it came out of the factory mad tuned.

Well, I have to be fair..... I did this awhile ago to a DOHC Dyno sheet.....so now it's the SOHC's turn.

Now imagine what he would make with a 27x6x3 Spearco IC, 720cc injectors and hondata; lean it out a bit, and he'll be making more power. Theres still alot of untapped power in that soch.
LOL all i can say is good luck forking out for a B swap and Turbo to run 19.5 psi

there are only a few important numbers that are really needed.... most of which get ignored
1) power to wieght ratio...(this can be done with either HP to LBs or torque to LBs, I perfer the latter of the 2)
2) torque (and a torque vs RPM graph, it is what turns wheels)
3) recovery time... (the amount of time after a shift to get back to the red line ... different for every gear)
those are the most important values..... HP is ussless in my books...
and it's so nice to see a SOHC that is only coming close to full potential... there is a dude running a d15b7 that does the quarter mile in 10 seconds or so .... very very very fast car....

Update
put down 301.9whp and 245.5ft-lbs at 20.7psi 11:1af was as lean as we could get her, stock ecu and pump gas, im happy that we got her to 300whp since everyone seemed to think that it couldn't be done......oh well standalone will be in shortly.
