looks alright, but why go with a TSX, when you can get a TL... better yet, the RL...

well, i prefer the TL... looks nicer...

RL is a complete waste of money IMO
when ur spending so much, why settle for some acura when u can get a more prestigious car for the same amount of money.
its a good car and everything, but i just wouldnt be able to justify spending so much on a luxury car without a good nameplate.

as for the tsx, i strongly suggest you look up as many reviews as you can, test drive it, and test drive a few of its competitors like the lexus IS and see for urself. good luck

are those actually recalls?
if not, i think you're just an unlucky one..

as far as i know, i have 4 buddies who owns one... none of them experience any of those problems... but again, 3 of them don't blast music like punks on the streets and 1 uses aftermarket speakers cause he pounds music... their windows are perfectly fine... not too sure about the clutch because i haven't heard anything from the two that has a manual... i test drove one, the shifting and clutch all feels good... HID still working fine after years..

and one of them owns an EL too... they said the TSX is far more superior over the EL without doubt but then the premium gas really kills for today's gas price.

i would give the car overall of 8.5/10
however, for a bit more, i would go for the TL, not because its nicer, i hate the TL rear and love the TSX rear... however, the TL is way more roomy inside and i can fell asleep in it!

one choice i would consider over any acura would be the lexus is350 or maybe the upcoming 2007 bimmer 335i (w/ twin turbo one)

again, i have 10% bias in my review as i'm more favor of jap cars over american and euro cars... nothing beats the way honda builts their motors!

There one of the few Honda's left with a double wishbone suspension. Acura race team does really well with there's. I think they're incredible. Far better handling than luxo slushboxes that are twice the price.

Well contrary to my first post you can compare TL to TSX:

MSRP TSX: $37,200 My build with A-spec package and extended warranty: $52,380 (including all taxes ect.)

MSRP TL: $42,000 My build with A-spec package and extended warranty: $58,600 (including all taxes ect.)

Yep, TL would be the winner for me on those choices. The TSX is a great looking car, but I also calculated G35 Sedan AWD Premium at $55,150 (including all taxes ect.). So if you have that much money to spend, you have options.

I love my TSX. I don't miss the Civic at all. I haven't had any problems with mine.

My only complaints are minor...
1. rattles - the steering wheel airbag and the trunk springs in particular
2. sunroof switch location - as with some other Hondas, it's on the left... but it's next to the VSA switch on the TSX! I'd like it up on the ceiling next to the roof like the new Civics, and most other Acuras
3. foglights - they run hot and you need to protect them with RockBlocker film, otherwise they'll break when hit by stones
4. chrome grille - I know it's an Acura thing, but I hate it. Give me the Accord Euro R's grille with the body-coloured surround and the egg-crate grille.
5. bumper paint - mine's more pockmarked than Edward James Olmos' face... I think they should include a full clear bra kit from the factory

That's it. I love everything else about the car.

My car now has over 25 000 km on the odometer and it's getting great mileage. Yes, I do use premium, but a fellow TSX owner ran some very controlled tests and proved that it's the best way to go. On a recent trip to Montreal, with 4 people in the car, I managed to get over 700km on one tank of fuel (64L tank wasn't even empty!). With my usual commute to/from Burlington every day, I get about 500 to 550km a tank.

Keep in mind that this is considered Acura's entry level sedan, but also remember that Car & Driver and numerous other magazines and auto journalists have rated it one of their top picks for the last 2-3 years... and why not? 200hp K24 engine, 6-speed close-ratio manual or 5-speed SportShift automatic tranny, double-wishbone suspension... the list goes on and on.

I test drove it the same day I test drove a 05 Accord V6 6-speed coupe. There was no comparison. The Accord felt very Americanized (gobs of power, but too much cushioning) and to me didn't feel like a Honda (I've owned/driven over 10 Honda products over my driving career). The TSX was like home. I settled in immediately and was taking the on-ramp like I was in my modified Civic. Everything about the way the car handled just made me grin.

It still does. I enjoy driving that car to and from work every day. It's the highlight of my day. (And just so you all know, I went for an automatic, and it too is hella fun. I hardly miss not having a manual transmission.)

So, if you can afford the TSX, then do it. You'll be getting yourself an excellent example of one of Honda's better cars.

haha michelle, i agree with you that for the small difference of 4k(consider you're already paying over 35k in a car), the TL will be much worthy in the long run...

TSX still wins hearts of enthusiast coz of euro accords and plus it still has the sport-feel to it for tuners. TL is really more on the higher-end for luxury lovers who cruises... TSX more of a show-car if you do some work to it... not that TL can't be done up but not as hype as the TSX

however, for that kind of money you can afford, there are plenty of options in that price range already... g35x sedan, perhaps the 330i, is350, etc

try test driving a tsx and other cars as well before you really throw down that huge sum of money

I just did a TON of research on the TSX before picking mine up last tues 6MT w/Navi I didn't pay anywhere close to those numbers that u posted up michelle so i donno where those came from... i payed WAY WAY less mind u i didn't get the a-spec package...

I'm honestly not a fan of the TL nearly as much as the tsx... aside from being bigger and having a v6 it's a much less efficient engine, but it does put out way more power. Also from what i've read modding a TL is a bitch compared to a tsx. The demographic of people who buy TLs vs TSXs is quite different because the price difference is about 10k depending on options..

So far i love it, mind u it's only been a week. The TL is luxury but it's not very sporty at all, handling isn't nearly as tight or as nimble as the TSX and like i said before there's WAY more options for aftermarket parts, Superchargers, hondata reflash, i/h/e than for the TL from what i found.

Premium gas is a price you have to pay regardless of if you pick the TSX or one of it's direct competitors..

As far as looking into other cars, i did for the same price, IS, BMW, etc... I suggest you go to the dealerships, test drive them, go all over the net research the hell out of them, go back drive then again if you need too...

For me the TSX did it interms of looks, features, luxury, performance.. the IS is tiny on the inside IMO, and the BMW for the price I paid on the TSX i'd have a bone stock BMW 318 or 325 with no creature comforts. I have to say i LOVE the navi, and the bluetooth I'm already hooked on using and like i said the amount of mods that are possible for this car if you're interested in modding it are pretty unlimited to be honest.

Personally i don't know why the TL get's so much hype from ppl, it's a nice car, but IMO the only thing it really has better than the TSX (especially with the addition of bluetooth to the 06 MMC TSX's) is that it's bigger, heavier, and has a underpowered v6 (when u think about honda standards, the v6 is only there to convince those north american buyers who just care about cylinders when purchasing a car that the TL is good enough for them... pure marketing ploy but it works..)

anyways after all that rambling, I'm like ryan every drive i take in my tsx is the highlight of my day, and i'm sure if he's still goin with that same feeling after 25,000k i'll be goin for that long and longer too!

Yeah i'm really not sure where Michelle is getting those numbers, I went to Acura on Brant and looked at a bunch of options and the price never went too much over 40k. Im looking at getting a '04 only for the fact that I one don't want to drop $800/month and the simple fact that every car loses its value the minute its driven off the lot. I'm looking at a auto 04 in white next week and hopefully going to buy it. Im tired of my buzzing exhaust and the suspension in my car. Plus getting out of my civic in a suit looks retarded. My civic has been fun but now its on to something cleaner and nicer.

lol

i donno i just did it on the site, the AUTO w/NAVI plus A-Spec package which is WAAAY over priced, you can get the parts cheaper yourself... (5k for a-spec rims, suspension, and oem lips all around) and it's 50,111... (way more than i'd ever spend on the car anyways...) did the TL AUTO w/NAVI with A-Spec package and got 59,062.... seems to me the about 10g's difference is right

in the 40 range OTD is about what ur looking at for an '06 TSX depending on how good a negotiator you are and the options / add ons you want...

hmm interesting... thanks for the link...

i'd still stay with my choice tho, but i didn't know they were that close with those options... the TL i priced had the dynamic / navi package too with no a-spec package...

i guess the dynamic package adds to the cost of the TL... there is no dynamic package available for the TSX...
