No. They are different. Although, I do believe my CTR and my friend's DC5 share similar trannies if not the exact same. Both are 6 speed trannies on a K-series motor. And i haven't had any problems with the 6 speed yet. Although I have heard problems with the 5 speed version in the states.

According to some people in the states, I've heard that the SiR EP has big problems. Clutch, release bearing, 2nd gear and steering problems where most talked about. I hope that helps.

The SiR has a shorter gear ratio compared to the Base RSX.

Like PSI_Envy said theres the 2nd gear grind. Although I haven't had any problems so far.

Theres also probelems with the steering rack on the 02-03 EP3s. From what I've heard Honda has issued some sort of recall to replace the steering rack in the US, don't know if the recall includes Canada.

To answer your qusetion about the trannies, they are different. They have different gear ratios.

As for the grinding from 1st to 2nd issue, nothing has come of it as of yet.

There have not been many cases with the steering rack problem in canada. I dont see honda canada issuing a recall/update/bulletin on them.

djordje if you are looking into getting a SiR, I am selling my SiR for $19000 o.b.o.... it is milano red (Rare) with 28,000kms and some what done up..intake, exhaust, suspenion, cf hood, type r wing to name a few.....you can pm me about details and if you want to see it.
