ABS vs. 4-Disc

Okay what i'm trying to get as, when I buy a car should I get one with abs, or should I just get 4 disc brakes?

Which one is better?

4-Disc with ABS
4-disc no abs
2 front disc - 2 drum abs
2 front disc - 2 drum no abs

which is the best?

4 disc with ABS is the best. a car with ABS always stops in a shorter distance then a car without ABS.

IMHO, I'll say "usually" instead of "always" as there are exceptions. On very soft road surfaces (e.g., snow, gravel), ABS tends to increase braking distances.

However, ABS does offer more steering control/ability during emergency braking situations.

Do cars with ABS stop more quickly than cars without it? Not always. Although the stopping distance with ABS is shorter under most road conditions, drivers should always keep a safe distance behind the vehicle in front of them and maintain a speed consistent with the road conditions. While a vehicle with ABS maintains its steering capability in a sudden stop, it may not turn as quickly on a slippery road as it would on dry pavement.

I have ABS and it has also saved my *** a few times in the snow. I'd get it again. ABS + snows = no probs in the winter.

An average or novice driver can benefit from it because like mentioned above, it offers more control, but doesn't necesarily shorten braking distances.

ABS saved my *** a few times as well. I think it's safer having the ability to steer while heavy braking.

If you want a shorter stopping distance check into a big brake upgrade and really good tires.Honda Big Brake upgarde
