nope i know i should get 5spd but its a shared car juss needs motor replaced and decided to buy a good motor ..trust me i know about 5spd cars i have driving them many times but auto doesnt bother me but you get bored sumtimes:drivesafe:

CV Shafts, You have half shaft, though I'm not sure if an GSR auto has half shaft, prolly does. Does GS-R come with an auto tranny? You'd need the opposite of a flywheel... drive line or something... auto = greek. Good luck...

Your car will be slow, why not buy a B18B LS instead of a GS-R B18B is like $400.. or a B20B... Just buy the high compression model.

why whats the diff in low and high compression to an auto the 5spd

I would understand if you had one leg or you where a grandma or something......but its your car.

The high compression B20b makes more HP than the low compression B20b, thats why he suggested it.

I also wouldnt bother with an auto GSR. You'd be better off with a non-vtec B18B or B20B HO like mentioned, save yourself some cash and put the higher torque to use with the auto.

B20B non vtec- 97-98....8:8:1 comp with 126hp 133tq
B20Z vtec- 99-01.........9:6:1 comp with 146hp 143tq

Keep in mind those hp+tq numbers are to the crank and for a manual tranny.....an auto will be a'lot lower. And these engines are old and have usually been sitting around for god knows how long?
Which is why I recomend a fresh rebuild on anyone doing a motor swap. If your going to go that far you minus well spend the extra cash and make the build reliable.

Anyway. Here's a thought... If you want to spend your money... buy a B20B with low compression, then buy an eBay turbo kit. "A friend, of a friend of mine" had a B20Vtec(crx) (5spd) and got 13 sec 1/4mile... Someone else had a B16A with an eBay turbo setup, and got a 11 sec 1/4mile (CRX)... Weither or not I believe it, I'd hate to be spending 10 000 and not get get my CRX to go 11 sec 1/4 when a guy spends $2000 and does it.

Moral: $450 B20B, $400 B20B transmission (auto), eBay turbo kit $700-1000.

I think the point most were trying to make was that spending the cash to get a good motor like the GSR then pairing it with an auto was kind of a waste.

A simple and cheaper swap for your needs, that has a little more power and torque like you want (142hp and 127 lbs tq), would be a B18B1 and auto transmission from a 94-01 Integra LS/RS/GS.

I mentioned about the B20 converstion, it's basically the same as the B18, but more displacement. The link above describing all the B series engine is a great place to start. I had a 96' HB SOHC... it was gutless. So I added a 97' B18C ITR with S80 5spd... the conversion cost $6200(not worth it IMO). So I say with experience, and understanding: Don't get a GS-R or like wise race engine, then swap to Automatic. Not because of the racer/ricer princable, but because it would be like buying a 5 cent candy for a dollar. If you didn't like MY opinion for a Turbo, then disregard it. Maybe do some reserach of your own, and stay open minded of others.

so spend 3000 and stop asking stupid questions.... and yea i still think putting 3000 in a trash is a waste of money ... but i guess some retards do like wasting their money ....

btw your car is not even worth 3000 $ so think about that before you put in more money than what the car is actual worth
