Hey, this summer im buying either a 90+ crx with a b16-b18a/b or a Miata 89-92...Now this will be my second crx and i must say i loved my first one...However i drove a miata a couple of times and i must admit that it is a FUN car!
(this is for a daily driver btw)
now as far as fun factor goes between these two cars which do u think would be more enjoyable??
also im a broke student so money is a factor and im a little worried that it would be more expensive to maintain a mazda.
Ps i do realize this will be a bit of a bias pole with this being a Honda site but i just want a second opinion

If you are financially insecure, then you need a car that is easy to maintain. Hence pick CRX, more parts floating around.

Though, Miata is a car I wouldn't mind to try out.

Id like to have a miata but im to tall :-( I think both vehicles would be a good choice. Witha crx id be concerned about rust...

Ahh decisions decisions....I think im gonna go with the crx....i swear once you have one u can never go back to anything else...right now im driving a 92 civic with a mini me and i swear i don't get half the enjoyment driving it compared to my crx

Id say miata, as it is all around a nicer platfrom to build off of. however you might get flamed about it being a chick car, just like the mx-3, but hey if its what u like then who cares. Also trying to find a good condition, non-rusted CRX for a good price might bve hard.

BTW this is a civic website, so remeber opinions will most likely be biased, ask same question on a miata, or mazda site to get a different perspective aswell

Miata only if it comes with a hardtop and is rust free. I've seen some of those miatas with insane rocker panel rust!.

and FYI, miatas have appeared on numerous automotive magazine lists of top 10 fun to drive cars, as well as being choice vehicles for auto X and other automotive sportsman activities. not to mention perfect weight distribution. I like the CRX as much as the next guy, but the miata in this case is prolly a better choice. parts to soup up are prolly more expensive since there are fewer riceboy parts... the parts available are better engineered for true enthusuasts. miata for the win!

I got cheaper quotes on 90 miata than my 90 crx si (which used to be the starter of this threads, till he crashed it and i bought it from him) haha

I could say the same about a CRX. an older CRX stock can be pretty damn ugly lol But once you do some work to it they look sweet!

If you like turns and nice summer days Miata is a great car (its on my "cars I'd like to own" list).

The CRX is also great too

If you care what other people think of you based on what car you drive, then the miata is not for you...

Miata's trunk is a joke...well at least compared to the CRX...if it was going to be your only car, definitely rex...tons of room...
