16000Km service + warranty stuff where should I go??
Ok guys(ladies ) I just past my 8 months in my new Civic, and although I'm anly at 15 200Km I need to get it in for service.
I'm really wondering where the best place to get an oil/lube and a tire rotation is??
Honda has a deal for $70.00 where you get a bunch of checks along with the oil and tire rotation but the fact that I need some warranty work done means I need to leave the car for the day.
If I get the Type b done I get a loaner car.
If I get the fall/winter service package I don't get a car.
Type b ....$130
Fall/winter package ....$70
Basically they are including the loaner in the price because the only thing that's really different is that they "service the brakes"
It also looks like the type B includes them lubricating stuff. I figured I'd just buy the lubricant myself.
I live in Uxbridge and work nights, so I can't really leave my car for the day while I'm at work.
Warranty work as follows
constant creak at the front of the dash where the dash and window meet.
Drivers map light sticks
trunk needs to be slammed HARD to close it.
How long can I expect them to take correcting these??
My biggest problem is the time thing. I've already figured I can do the oil myself, and spend 10-15 on a tire rotation, but wonder about the warranty work.
Can somebody give me some ideas?
can somebody mention a place where I can get them to do a tire rotation that will allow me to bring my own oil/filter and get them to change it while I wait??
thanks
Brent

A car within 4 years (96000 km) of time should only need:
1) Regular Oil change + Oil filter
2) Tire rotation
3) Tranmission fluid at required mileage
4) Clutch fluid at required mileage
5) Top Break fluid when needed
6) Top Engine Coolent when needed
7) Regular car wash to keep salt and other harmful deposits off the car
8) Misc. items such as wiper blade, windshield fluid, lubricate latches etc.
New tires and new break pads and timing belt and whatnot can be changed at 96000. That's if you drive your car under normal situation. Hondas are built to last. Unless it is OEM failure, your car should last for a long, long time.

Get done whatever your maintenance schedule calls for at your current age/mileage. If you don't follow the maintenance schedule, you can void your warranty. Remember if you get the stuff done somewhere other than the dealer, make sure you get receipts to prove the work was done (this is why you may run into problems if you do things yourself).

Michelle, ya those were based on my own car's spec LOL. I guess a lot of highway mileage changes your service condition.

Also, I am a stickler to everything running perfect in my car, I take care of every creak right away...I like it to always drive like new
Even after the 80,000 km I have on it now, it still runs like the day I picked it up

Service is the basic maintenance for your vehicle, it may seem that some things are unneccesary, but they are also preventative measures.
Oh, Nova Dust, I changed my pads when they were probably around 30 - 35% left, I also changed the rotors at the same time because it was cheaper than machining them. The breaks weren't bad, just a little too spongy for my driving style
