60,000km Maintenance (2005 Honda Civic Si)
Im going to be bringing my dad's car into work for its scheduled oil change. I will also be rotating/balancing the tires....checking brakes and adjusting the rear brakes (rear shoes). What other maintenance does honda recomend at the 60,000 mark? Fuel filter and tranny fluid exchange (manual) to early?
-Thanks. |

How much does Honda charge for the 64,000km service?
Seems like service brakes and change oil are the main items and the rest is lub this and check that. Unless your under a warranty I would be only worried about the brake service and the oil change. I remember reading a maintenance pamplets a while back. I forget the km but for honda JUST to CHECK your spark plugs was $100. I was WTF? I can buy new ones from NAPA, Canadian Tire, Car Quest, etc for under $20 |
The service prices differ slightly from dealer to dealer, but my last big service was about $300. They changed the air and cabin filters, serviced the brakes, oil change and few inspections.
Some people say spending the cash to have the dealer perform these services is a waste of money. But, Ive never had any warranty issues denied and my cars have always run tip-top. I dont mind spending a few hundred a year to keep my car running in perfect shape. |
I understand spending a few hundred $$. However most of that service is inspection maybe and some service 1hr tops(?). Shop labor rate is $90
