I drive by the 407 every day and notice how empty it is, but honestly, the roads I take are generally just as empty. I can commute without it.

I was a 407 ***** since I moved here and worked a lot in Markham and got a transponder. But now since I got a full time teaching job like 10 mins away from the new house, I just take local streets going to ditch the transponder! WAHO! More money in da pocket!

I refuse to take the 407, and have not been on it since they started charging for it.

I find that I save myself about a 1/2 hour drive from 401 to Kennedy in Markham. I don't have to deal with the 401/404 or 401/400 traffic.

BTW That transponder only cost about $24 for the year.

meh it saves me time... I don't use it often but the transponder is so worth it... I probably spend about $50/yr in 407 fees and it's so damn worth it...

but I guess some people would rather spend that $50 on mugen stickers or underglow neons... lol I prefer saving my time

That's another reason why I don't want to be on it. You have to pay for it and end up spending the same amount of time getting to your destination.

the 401 isnt that bad in the morning...i take it everyday, markham rd to 427 for school...20-30 minutes max...but in the afternoon forget it 3-5:30 its a joke, at around 6:30 - 7 it clears up though...and besides i see less cops on the 401 than the 407...but then again the average speed on the 407 is like 120...and the drivers have road manners...they dont sit in the fast lane going 100...left lane is always open, if you come up behind someone going slow they will move.....for me its a toss up, but i dont mind staying a little later at school to save some money.....if I dont have time i use the 407.

Good idea, i just found out but the 401 is the busiest highway in the world (as per wikipedia)
