2nd opinion about selling price of my civic
Hi everyone,
I recently puchased a CSX (still waiting for delivery) and will have to sell my civic.
I wanted to get an opinion on what I could get for my civic if I sold privately.
Here are the details:
1997 Civic 4 Dr EX
5 Speed Manual
229 XXX KM on odometer
Timing belt and waterpump changed at 216 XXX KM.
Underneath the car was undercoated for rust.
All season tires on the civic right now, and selling with 4 Winter tires with probably 70% of thread life left.
Heres what making me wonder...
The car has some rust along the wheel well on the left side.
What would be a reasonable value to ask for?
Thnx in advance

I was actually projecting 3000 - 3500 based on what i'm seeing in AutoTrader.
Yes I will cert and etest.
The Acura dealer wanted to give 1500.

Dealer always low ***** you because they are going to turn around and try to sell it at a profit if they can. After a few weeks, they usually send anything older than 4 years off to an auction for private dealers.

But in my case I got the car for a really good price which he didn't seem all that happy with (happy he was making a sale but not that much with the amount of profit I guess).
So when it came time to discuss the trade-in he said all i can give is 1500 and thats all.
However lately I'm having an issue with the guy, he promised to have the credit check done today and now hes making excuses that there backlogged. I understand if they are but still my car won't be ordered till after the check (requires to be ordered).
Need to call and b**** tomorrow, i'm sure there are sales that they made that are on the lot and they can take car of those after.
