2009 Civic
Hi everyone, with my current car getting older and the market being what it is i've decided to purchase a new car, and i'm looking at a new Civic, either the EX-L model or the SI model. I'm hearing alot of car companies giving out some great deals on cars, including honda .. so i was just wondering if anyone has recently purchased a new Civic and what kind of prices they were getting ... msrp on an EX-L is $24,980 and the SI is $26,680. If there is anybody on this board that you can point me to that works at a dealership, you could point me in they're direction as well .. thanks for the help and take care !!

You could use Car Cost Canada to find out what the dealer pays for the car you want and start negotiating from there. I know many people with the newer Civic's, including me and I don't think anyone has managed to get more then a few hundred bucks off the price. Most people, like me managed to get extras like tints or all season mats instead of a lowered price.
I've been dealing with Image Honda here in Hamilton and they always been good to me.

When I bought my Civic 1 1/2 years ago, I dealt with Classic Honda in Brampton because my buddy works there. He basically showed me how much is the cost of the car, and added $400.00 on top of that.
I don't recall how much the car was, but with the discount he gave me I ended up paying close to 2Gs less than what I would have had to pay if I had paid sticker price.
I hear some people go and just deal with the managers instead of dealing with the sales people, but for that you have to come in and know the cost of the car, and the dealer's profit. Car Cost Canada is a good place to start.

Mike, let me know what you need, and I can talk to my friend. He is now a manager at Honda so if you need accessories or parts or anything we can get them with him using his discount.
That's how I got my HFP body kit and saved (I think) a lot of money.
