If I had the funds, it would be a TSX no doubt. But having said that, the poster never made mention of a SI and also stated a non V6, so no matter what we want, I think he is thinking a lot less than V6 and TSX

true... lol that's what i get for reading everyone elses posts before responding to OP's question...

well then i think given his question '06 civic coupe, or accord coupe

i donno... i kinda like the look of the civic, but i think it might get old quick, and the accord has a more classic design... he's not worrying about speed, as we can tell with him not choosing SI or V6, so really i'd think about what do you want your car to say about you, and what kind of size are you looking for? the accord is significantly bigger than the civic, more room, etc... going from a civic to a roomier car i dont' think i could ever go back..

As mentioned above, drive both extensively. The Accord is a much bigger and luxurious car then the Civic. If you do alot more highway driving, an Accord might be a better choice, while the Civic would be perfect for the city.

lol that term came from a honda press release or something i read before they released the new Si...

as always it's all personal preference, i love the added space of a bigger car (mind you my TSX is smaller than an Accord) in the city or on the highway... just overall in general... i'd have a hard time going back to a civic even if it was an Si... but then again that's just me, and i'm sure my 6'4" frame has a mild influence on that opinion...

99% of honda v6 automatic transmissions are no good after a couple of years...thats why they extended the warnty for them...but the v6 6spd is bullit proof...the one thing about the accord is it dont have lsd...but then again u can get it off the cl type s 6spd

wow look at everyone in favour of the accord. The accord V6 and civic SI is not what I'm aiming for. I'll be happy with an I4 accord ex or a civic LX. The TSX is very nice but is not in the price range, it is a little out of reach. And I have seen a few civic SI and they look real sweet. Even if I don't get a civic SI, I can slap on an SI grille, spoiler, VTEC decal and some aftermarket rims and I'm good to go.

forget about the accord if you're not getting the v6 6spd

if you get a base accord, not like you're really gonna get the luxury, just more room, that's it... don't you neeed $ to upgrade to a navi- package?
don't you need $$$ to have all the sexy features? its v6 or nothing when it comes to the accords

when you go luxury, its always go all out... why have a look-so-luxurious car but doesn't have navi and the awesome features.

In that case he may as well buy a TSX, he is looking for basics.

Another point is, call your insurance company, I believe the Accord is better priced compared to a Civic insurance wise. Rating for a 4 cyl Accord is 166 hp 160 tq Civic is 140 hp 128 tq. The Accord is DOHC, the civic an SOHC if you stay with the EX on both.

Basically it will come down to what you like and price. Take them both out and see how you feel. You can take all our opinions, but it will eventually come down to you and what you like, not us. You are the one that will have to drive it.

If I had to choose, I would take the Accord, but my needs are different than yours as well as style in what I like. I have a civic because I bought it from my sister, but at the time I was looking for an Accord.

Good luck!

i know your biased on the comparison. even car and driver states the tsx is a luxury marketed car but in comparison to the accord it gets beat.

who cares what a magazine says? lol

the AV6 is a boat compared to the TSX let's be honest.. .i know i'm biased, but the TSX is definitely sportier, the AV6 has it beat in terms of power and such, but when i consider owning an accord which are a dime a dozen, think about it how often do you see an accord on the road, they're ALL OVER the place....

i'd rather have a TSX a little more rare, a little less well known... they dont' sell NEARLY as many of them as they do the Accords, and also i personally like the exterior design of the TSX better than the Accords...
