That may be the case, but I don't know because I test drove an automatic, since my wife is not driving 5spd.

I have never driven one, but I used to own a Mitsubishi before I got my EK. I have to say that as far as reliability goes, Mitsubishi is far less reliable than Honda or Toyota. True, they are fun to drive, but what good is that when the car breaks down every few months? Same goes for Mazda, they are not as reliable as Honda so what good does it do me if it's fun to drive?

Mitsubishis are the best backed cars and they are willing to stand by their product with the best warranty in the business.
5 Year roadside assistance
5 Year bumper to bumper
10 Year Power train
No other manufacturer comes close to providing that type of standard coverage

I know there the best back cars but what fun is having a car thats always at the dealer?
To be honest it really takes time out of my day just to visit any dealer for any reason when I could be doing something else....
Don't get me wrong I actually really commend Mitsubishi for standing behind there product. And before purchasing my 97 Civic, I really wanted a Lancer and would have purchased one if I could have afforded it.
I hightly doubt you'll ever see GM backing any product with a waranty like that...

The Mazda3 is superior car in handling and driving dynamics compared to the 7th and 8th generation civics.
The Civic is more refined, a quieter cabin, standard safety features, excellent build quality and better fuel economy.
But I found the Mazda3 much more fun to drive, stronger acceleration, handling, more tossable, shifting was more precise. I found the 8th gen manual shifter to feel very vague compared to previous hondas.
When it comes to fun driving, Honda put all their eggs into the 8th gen Si, which whips the Mazda3 *** when it comes to fun on the road, but also pays for it with fuel consumtion and a higher grade of gas.

They have to back them like that or else nobody would buy their POS cars that depreciate faster than most other cars on the road.
