2001 Windshield Washer

2001 Windshield Washer

My lady has a 2001 Civic and the windshield washer light on the cluster is staying on ....the bottle is full it just won't go out....any suggestions as to how to get the light shut off??

u could always take the light out if you check you fluids regularly then there is no need for it, those lights are just annoying anyways.

I had the same problem on my 2002 Civic. So I sold the car.

The sensor at the bottom of the reservoir tank needs to be replaced. That will fix the problem

i just changed my tank not too long ago, i had a sensor too, which seemed to be fried and i had no light coming on so i just got rid of the sensor all together...the new tank didn't have a spot for the sensor anyways

Seriously though, I then drove a 93 Voyager for the summer (granny drove) and the tranny blew at the end of August.

Now I'm rolling in a 96 Maxima.

Maxima cost way less then I sold my civic for (it was a DX) and I've got OPTIONS galore...

All in all Car Carma worked out wicked for me.

So dude, sell you're civic, blow a tranny (in either sense) and you'll end up with a nicer car!!

Is that your a86, the black one with the gold rims, i think we met this summer at KC i asked you about your car and you gave me a very good tour of it, if so, man that was alot of hard work put into it, like i said that day, very rare indeed, if you ever sell it let me know.

I just got my civic in august and like it a lot, but im in uni so ill prolly keep it for 1-2 years and maybe upgrade to an rsx-s 6 spd FTW

6th gen civics never had sensors to indicate low washer fluid level. the thing you pulled was the washer fluid pump.
