2000 Civic Maintenance Schedule

Hi,

I'm coming up to 96000Km on my Civic SiR and I 'think' my next scheduled maintenance is just a Type 4.

Replace engine oil* and filter.
Service front and rear brakes.
Rotate tires**, inspect for wear and adjust pressure.
Lubricate all hinges, locks, and latches with multipurpose grease.
Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box and boots.
Inspect suspension components.
Inspect driveshaft boots.
Inspect parking brake adjustments.
Inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS).
Check all fluid levels, condition of fluids, and check for leaks.
Inspect cooling system hoses and connections.
Inspect exhaust system.
Inspect fuel lines and connections.
Check all lights.
Inspect the underbody.
Inspect and adjust drive belts.
Replace dust and pollen filter (if applicable).
Replace air cleaner element.

The Pembroke Honda dealership wanted to charge me $400+ for this service. I was like wtf?? Can I just get a parts list. Which they wouldn't provide. Grr. Either way I would prefer NOT to deal them again since they already messed up an oil change on my car.

What did you pay for your Type 4 service? Are prices for Type service roughly the same at each dealer? Is there more work involved than what is listed?

its actually a type 5 t-belt a water pump is recommended with that service.

I know a t-belt is due soon. I was just planning to buy the parts from somewhere else than Pembroke Honda and do the job myself since I have access to a shop with hoist/tools etc on base.

I just have an extended warrenty on my car and I don't want to void it.

Any prices or basicly all the same @ each dealership?

Could I do a type 4 service myself w/o voiding the extended warrenty?

become a paid member and you can go to parkway and save 25%
on all OEM parts.
the amount that you would save basically pays for the membership and some.
