I looked at an '89 Celica, the shifter felt awesome, all the gears all close together, very nice feeling and low to the ground. Got it started, engine revved really damn nice seeing as how it had sat for a while, goto test drive it.. put it into 1st, pull foot off clutch, nothing even happened, not even a damn chatter. GAYNESS!! It was way to expensive to put a new clutch into it... and there is little to no room to work on older celica engines compared to other stuff.

AE86?

Is it RWD, if so get those things can be fun.

GTS...

If there is a bad clutch design then thats going to be too exspenive.. buy the car go easy on the clutch and if it goes then get ready for a huge billl

CoconutDaniel 04-Oct-2003 09:58 PM

lol i'm not that guy, but if i get the chance i'll mock that sig.

STAY ON TOPIC OR THE ARGUING WILL START!

lol

i'm starting to think i should get a part time job, save up and buy a 2000 dollar celica when i get my G2.

Its so bloody hard ro balance school and work.

On top of all that its hard to find a job.

thats why i have to buy a cheap ass car.

There are some cheap low 90 model civics for sale on TCC. maybe i should go for one of those?

Maybe i should get a job like my friends tell me too.. then talk about buying a car :'(

Biggy 05-Oct-2003 04:35 PM

ya it might be a good idea to get a job before a car, insurance is expensive for younger people and if you are looking to buy a cheap car, ie 90 and older, you are going to have a lot of repairs to deal with, if not when u buy the car but eventually i mean its a 13+ year old car just plain wear and tear, just becareful when buying a car that the body is strong, take it for a drive, if u cant drive standard and thats wut u want, get someone u knowto take it for a drive, turn the wheel lock to lock listen carfully for knocking clicking vibrations anything that u dont think should be there, if u can take it to a shop have them look it over, u dont wanna get screwed on ur first car, i made that mistake when i bought my first car, looked like a smoking deal, i ended up spending close to 4 grand in the 6 months i owned the car just to keep it running, but definatly if u want reliability buy a honda, i mean those 88-91 civic u can find anypart u want in the scrapper cheap so if u can do the work urself cheap repairs, just make sure u research what ur buying so u dont get screwed like me.

CoconutDaniel 05-Oct-2003 06:27 PM

yeah i sorta know this mechanic, he fixes hondas. i assume he could fix toyotas or at least come with me and tell me if this deal is good or not.

i cant really do work myself, but when i was interested in computers, i learned a lot with ym first one. i hope the same will happen with my first car.

i dont know how to drive standard. i mean i know HOW to, but i have never tried.

auto is easy i parked coconutcolins volvo often when my mom drove it.
