Damn, I wish that I got that kind of milage!! I do mainly city driving so I can't expect anything more than about 400km on one tank of gas. I'm just stuck in traffic too much.

Then on pure highway driving, I got up to 550km once... but then I had to refuel since the next gas station was approx. 80km away and I didn't want to have to push my car. But getting such high gas milage on the highway has only happened once... I just drive too fast.

That's why I figure, why drive fast?

Heavy foot can get me home about 10 minutes earlier if I do 140 or faster; when a nice and slow 100 or even 110 can do just fine. What's the rush? Saves on gas, saves you money, and you get to see all the rice cars pass you by!

That's what I call road entertainment. You miss all these when you drive too fast...

Only???

I drive a 94 Civic DX.
I average 19km/Litre. ~ 720 km between fill ups.

80% Highway.
20% Local.

If you guys are wondering:
No, I don't drive super slow.
No, I don't drive 100 in the left lane.

I always drive above the speed limit.
120-130 cruise highway ( passing about 80% of the other drivers )
70 local ( passing about 80% of the other drivers )

Guys, the secret to getting good mileage, is to scan far ahead to anticipate traffic lights and traffic stoppages, and not be stupid and accelerate only to brake hard at a red light.

If you're smart, you can usually "time" the greens on roads and cruise right through them... passing the fools who thought they were being cool by zooming into the next red light.

I like to think of driving as being smooth. That's the real way of being fast. Anyone idiot can just mash the gas and go. It takes some skill to actually think about the traffic and how to manuever through with the least change in speed.

You guys always are amazed at people that can pull off 600 km per tank..

I get 600 km per tank IF I BOOT IT... and 800 km per tank if I drive like my grandmother (changing gears @ 2000-2500 and no WOT).
I've never gotten less than 600 km per tank since I first got my car and I run a D17A1

How big is your tank? I think the 7th gen tank increased in capacity Plus, you are ULEV compliant so your **** is real restricted by OBD2.1

Whoever said about momentum is damn straight I don't get fantastic mileage anymore... mostly in the city so 450-500 avg, sometimes like 350

The tank is 50 liters large and I highly doubt just because my car is ULEV... it'll be buckets slower than the generation that priored mine.

Besides... my car isn't an M5.... as much as I'd like to think it is.. it isn't

My 03 coupe LX has 400 km on the tank right now and still has 1/2 tank left. Depending on how much city driving I do I should easily make it into 600 km/tank range.

My 95 CX hatch gets around 450 km/tank but that's with a smaller tank.

Exactly!

The new 7th gen LX Civics use so little gas.. it's almost helping me save money!
