1/4 mile time for SIR!!!!

i know this could be asked be4, but i'm still confused about it and really wanna find out.!!!!!!! I would like to know the fastiest 1/4mile time for a stock SIR 2000..........coz i've been to Vancouver civic board and i see some of the members listing that they could do 15.2sec@92mph......(this is normal i guess), But, some listings say they did 14.3 or 14.8 sec using a stock SIR 2000.........so i am just wondering what is the fastiest time a SIR 2000 can do????

If a SIR 2000 can do 1/4mile in the 14s, then it will be faster than a Prelude SH 1998-2001........is that true??....coz base on my understanding, a Prelude 1998-2001 is always faster than a SIR 1999-2000.(it's just my thinking, no stat support) So, i would like someone to clear up my mind with the real spec.......thank you.

14.3 on a stock SiR? It's rated off the assembly line at 15.7-15.8 ... but no 2 motors are the same even straight from Honda, there will be some a little faster, and some a little slower. Low to mid 15's is possible with good driver, but any better than that just isn't realistic.

yah a lude should be faster. ludes can run around 15 flat stock but a SiR cant. you're looking at anywhere between 15.2-15.7 for a 100% stock SiR. throw in some mods and it's a different story though

throw in some mods on ANY car, ANY car will be a different story.

a CAI is not going to knock off a second on your quarter mile, i wish it did. The Sir should do high 15's like everyone else said, maybe low 16's. There's no chance it will hit low 15's stock.
It also depends on the driver of the vehicle.

I've heard mid to high 15's but My Blue Si is right.

I've heard of ZC powered CRX's beating stock SiR's but I can't say if its true since I've never seen it myself.

The only way I see a stock 'lude beating a stock Civic SiR is if the 'lude driver fell asleep...
But ya never know...

low 16's?? yah with a shitty driver

sure not everyone can do low 15's stock but it's definitely not impossible

i know someone off hand that did a 15.1 with only intake and exhaust

also someone did a 14.9 with only intake on clubsi.

ya right 14.9, alot of people talk about their cars being fast but it's all bs. It's people like that, just make me think about getting out of this import scene. so much talk and bs and everyone believes it. i don't want to put any Sir owners down but the car is not fast at all and I don't talk **** like most people do but i beat an Sir 3 times with my car and he was an experienced driver and yes he had an exhaust, intake and headers also which doesen't do much anyway and i ran a 16.1 recentley, so it shows alot, people thinking that they know everything when they have no proof or statistics to prove them being right. Stuff like this makes me flame.

R u serious??/ doing 16's with a SIR......it's very hard.......i think mostly goes into 15's though. BTW, it feels like SIR is faster than a Prelude 98-01 when u are sitting inside the car......maybe it's bcoz the lighter weight of an SIR.......and i feel the vtec is pulling harder on an SIR than a lude.......

Another question is, what will be improves when i add in a 4 to 1 header to SIR??? more torque??? meaning faster acceleration on hwy????

okok...the SiR is super slow. Lets line it up sometime

btw, there were several witnesses to the 14.9. it wasnt just some random guy on the net posting it up. there was a bunch of people who witnessed this at the track. but whatever, lets not argue about this over the net...

and about 97-01 ludes, the SiR is faster than an auto lude. i know cuz my friend has one. i'm not saying SiR's are "fast" but they arent 16 second cars either

Agreed no arguing please.
we'll it shouldn't do 16's, as i said it all depends on the driver, it should hit 15's and so should my car, i just had a bad day at the track, that's all. im not saying there super slow either, there good cars and i like them but i never felt enough power when i was behind the wheel of my friends Sir and my car beat a couple also and i don't think my car is quick at all, but my car is drastically lighter than it also.
An auto prelude should lose to an Sir. I know that my 2 friends raced each other (5 spd lude) vs (auto lude) and the standard took it by quite a far distance.
I still give the Sir a

It's a civic... The SiR..... Not a drag machine
What's with all the talk of low high 15's.... Who cares...

Do i think it's powerful.. NO... Does it get me around town.. Yeah...

Do i think it's sexy... Yep... Would i give it up for an S2000 (Why would you ask!!)

You want speed, get a motocycle... Even at 100KM/H, it feels so much faster than riding in a car...

If you want your car to feel like you're going fast

Cut your springs, Rip out all your sound insulation, Roll down all the windows, and inflate your tires to about 50 psi.

Big difference between going fast and feeling like you're fast.

Take a ride in the AMG SL55 which does 13.0 out of the dealership, I guarantee you it doesn't feel as fast as going 16.0 in a SIR.

You want to build a dragster to run quick 1/4 mile?

heres a hint

Don't do it with a B16A

But to put the question to bed

The whole argument of how fast is the quarter mile, more information must be provided about each car.... are you talking bone stock?
Then 15.8 is good.

If you're adding Intake, Headers, Exhaust
Then 15.5 are good

then add some a computer and drag tires
Then 15.2 are good

Strip out your interior, take our the spare...
We might just touch into very high 14s

all in all, alot of frigin' work and $$$ for a 1 lousy second.
