06 Civic Si availability?

Hey, has anyone managed to take a look at these cars or their availability? I was interested in one when the 06 Civics were first launched, but I heard they won't be available for a little while. Now that I'm hearing some more talk about them, are they available? Sold out? Way above MSRP? If anyone knows more about them, please respond. Thanks

I've only seen 2 at the 2 dealers here in Hamilton and I was told that each dealer is only getting a limited supply because of the low production numbers. There are a few people on the board that work for Honda (check the other 06 threads), so I'm sure they can help you. But unless you have already placed a deposit on one, you might be out of luck unless you order one.

Cool, thanks for the info. I don't mind ordering one if the wait time is going to be 1-2 months, which from what I've seen so far in this board is the standard turnaround time..

I've also heard stories of SI's sitting on lots because the younger buyers could not get the financing or their insurance would be too high. There is a new SI owner on the board, Stoked Si or something like that, who is paying around $500 a month for insurance. I choose to get an EX simply because of the high cost of the SI. $5000 more in price, premium gas and high insurance rates.

but dun u get the more powerful engine in the si?
unless u wait until si gets total'd or stolen, then you can find a nice 6spd lsd swap si engine... haha.......

just wondering, would it be possible to drop in a 06 rsx type-s 6spd into the 06 ex coupe? haha

I guess you could, but hte cost savings would be ****** out over quite a few years (an EX costs like 22 or something, then say another 6k for the engine, but you save quite a bit on insurance), and by then you have destroyed the resale value of your car...

hey

Insurance is high but it's works out a little better for me because my girlfriend and I pay for it. Depending how old you are and how good your record is the price will reflect on that. The price of the car is worth it and as well as the insurance. From what i understand you cannot lease the Si. So finanacing it would be the way to go...doing this there are a few ways of handling it to decide how much u pay monthly and such. For me ..I pay bi-weekly $240 approx. and it works out cheaper in the long run. You Should just talk to the honda business manager and he will help you out as he did for me. Also from what i understand is the next order for the Si should be coming around March. If you want to see the car I will be at wednesdays meet.

i have two si's where i work, both are sold. one is the brownish color while the other one is silver!

i sat in the silver one today and man those seats are perfect for taller people (i am 6'1). steering wheel is very nice, leather wrapped with cruise and stereo controls mounted very ergonomically. anyone who has drive the 06 civic will know the new steering wheel is more oval now! one thing i noticed is that the gear shifter throws are not as short as i had anticipated (i was expecting s2000 short).

anyway, stokedsi is right. these cars are sold out completely until the next production run which is around feb - march afiak. honda has also released a bunch of accessories with them too like the full body kit (which looks great), hfp rims and even a pager alarm with remote start.

sticker price for the stock si in the showroom is between 26-27k.

You still can find an Si model if you call around to a bunch of dealerships.

When I was looking to buy a EX 4dr in Auto, I could've had my pick of two or three Si models. Each sales guy I talked said the sales fall apart because each kid credit wasn't good enough.

Ouch so your saying your car payment and insurance payment together is like $1000 bucks? Man that's alot of coin for a Civic. My estimated payment on a 2004 330ci was only $480 4 years with 1000 down and insurance at $285 then a $10,000 buyout. (i read somewhere else that you were paying like 500 bucks for insurance)

You could only swap that tranny in if you swapped the K series motor with it, and why would you waste your time anyway when the 2006 Si comes with a K motor and 6 speed tranny.

Every Si we've received, we've managed to sell only a few days after it's arrival. Hell, our first Si we got was sold as of July 2005...and it arrived to us in December. So, I don't know where you're getting this information where Si's are sitting out on lots cause they can't be sold...cause if that's the case, let me know which dealer this is...so I can do some dealer trades or something...we've got a long list of buyers for the Si...and we only get one a month so far. So, if you know which dealer whose Si's aren't selling, let me know.

Cheers,
Buddah.
