I ordered a '06 civic dx-g and was told it'll be here by February!.. i can't stand the wait! especially since I see an assload of them on the streets (lx's and ex's). Is anyone else waiting on a dx-g sedan??

I've had my EX Coupe for over a month now and it's been awesome. I considered an SI, but it's a few grand more in price/ins/gas and I would have had to wait a few months like you.

Here is Hamilton, I've lots of Sedans, but the Coupes are very few expecially in my colour (Neutron Blue). I've seen only 1 other.

It's enough. It feels much quicker then my old 98SI and it also has much more torque. 140hp/128tq vs 127hp/107tq.

1998 1402kg

I dont think those figures are correct at all. According to the Honda Canada website, my car weighs 1227 kgs. Either way. the 06 does weigh much more then the EG and EK Civics, but its a much better built, more refined, better equipted car. You can't really even compare them. MY car drivesand feels more like a TSX then my old Civic.

Are you crazy, there is no way that the new Civic is over 5,000 lbs. 140 hp wouldn't pull it.

Your 2685 must be lbs, therefore it is lighter the 98 coupe was approx. 2,800 lbs.

The DX models aer very, very popular and therefore harder to get. They are a great car for the little amount of money they cost. I got an EX just because I like haveing lots of options and features.

The newer CIVICS don't go with time/KM for oil changes. They go with a oil life meter instead. Oil Changes basicly depends on how hard you run it. You get a warning at 15% life left, etc. When it gets down to 0% it is logged into the computer.
EG. Warranty VOID, etc

I order an 06 EX on the 22 Dec. It should've been in today, but it hasn't shown up yet.

so if you don't drive it at all for a month you don't have to change it at all? i was watching some tv program saying it's best to change the oil every month rather than every 5000kms or whatever. i look at my oil after every month and it gets pretty damn dirty. i couldn't imagine letting my engine take the same oil for 5000kms or more.

that has to be all hwy to pile up 10,000km in like 2-3 months?! And yeah there's oil change indicator on the 06 civic, which we'r supposed to follow according to Honda anyway

it's best to change the oil every month rather than every 5000kms
Every month???! That kinda sounds like excessive, no?

i bought my car in jan and clocked like around 45k if not more this year? my car was running pretty bad. but after i did a tune up and used sea foam, started to change my oil more often, the car ran better and better. after a month and a half using the same oil, my engine would start burning the oil for some reason. iuno maybe to you it's a lot but i can't afford to blow the engine right now. it's just hit 300k like last month just trying to keep the motor running in mint condition until i can afford a new motor. oil changes don't cost you ****, like what 25 bucks a month? that's less than my phone bill. now i use high mileage oil and change it every month and a half to 2 months.

I'll be changing mine long before 8k's no matter what the monitor says, especially the first time. The car doesn't use synthetic so I wouldn't go any higher then 8k's.
