*IMPORTANT* C7 Question and Answer Thread

Please NO POST-WHORING in this thread, and please read all the information that I've posted here or given links to before asking any questions. Sam, Kathryn, and Mark, if I've missed anything please feel free to add, or tell me to edit this orginal post.

If you're interested in the history and some general information about this cruise go here (it's an info pack that the c7 crew took time to make and would probably answer a lot of general questions/concerns. Please sign up on the c7 website if you're gonna roll with us: SIGN-UP LINK

PREMEET

since we have such a large group the group leaders have decided to have a pre-meet before we all go to the actual beginning destination point to take a head count and to collect waivers. Also an important note, this is a chance for you to get your coffee/drinks whatever, and to use the washroom, as the GO station's facilities will be closed. We probably won't make another stop for at least an hour or so. Also we will be collecting signed waiver forms which is MANDATORY, and you'll find it on page 18 of the infopack. Please print one up and have it signed for the pre-meet, we will bring a few extra just incase people forget, and like I said before, anyone under 18 MUST get a parent/guardian to sign for persmission.

Where: Tim Hortons/Wendy's just south west of of 410 and Steeles. It's between Costco and a movie theater.

When: Sunday October 3rd at 8AM SHARP, reason is that 30-45 mins should give us enough time to get the cars organized, make sure everyone has waiver forms and allows everyone to get coffee etc.. getting 25+ cars to leave a parking lot at once will take some time as well.

Thanks for Mark (My_SiR) with the specific directions and a couple of maps to help you find it.

From Toronto Area:
Take 401 West to Mississauga,
Go North on 410,
Exit at Steeles,
Turn Left (West),
Drive for two lights,
Make a left onto First Gulf Blvd (it is called Rutherford Rd. S, North of
Steeles),
Turn Left at the next lights onto Biscayne Cres. and the Timmies is on the
left.

From Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton etc. Area:
Take QEW to Oakville (practically Mississauga),
Take 403 from QEW,
Go North on 410 (straight from 403),
Exit at Steeles,
Turn Left (West),
Drive for two lights,
Make a left onto First Gulf Blvd (it is called Rutherford Rd. S, North of
Steeles),
Turn Left at the next lights onto Biscayne Cres. and the Timmies is on the
left.

From Milton, Cambridge etc:
Take 401 East to Mississauga,
Go North on 410,
Exit at Steeles,
Turn Left (West),
Drive for two lights,
Make a left onto First Gulf Blvd (it is called Rutherford Rd. S, North of
Steeles),
Turn Left at the next lights onto Biscayne Cres. and the Timmies is on the
left.

If you live in Mississauga or Brampton, you shouldn't need directions.

The actual Cruise

As soon as the c7 staff releases the route of the cruise I'll post it up, but directions/maps to Bramalea Go Station (our starting point) are on page 19 of the info packet (can you tell I'm encouraging you to read it?) it's right on steeles so it's about 5 mins away from the Timmies we're meeting up at.

There we will park all our cars together in our group, and the group leaders (myself, Kathryn, Sam and Mark) will register TCC. They will be releasing cars out in groups, being one of the largest teams there it'll take a while for us to leave, plus they might split us up in sub-groups which we will discuss at the pre-meet. First group will be leaving this location at 9:30AM.

The roads will be bumpy at times, especially the Forks of the Credit (some areas) those of you that have run the route will know. But all, in all it's an AMAZING drive with some truly beautiful scenery as the group leaders from TCC went on the pre-cruise this past Sunday.

What you might want to bring

1. FRS: If you have more than one BRING EM

2. CASH: The final location in Hockley Valley will not accept credit card or debit. In any case, make sure you have a LOONIE cuz the staff at the Hockley Valley General Store will be collecting a loonie PER car (due to losing $ from last year's events). Food/drinks can be bought there (will be cheaper than last year too)

3. FULL TANK OF GAS: There will be no stops in between for gas, the total distance from Bramalea Go Station to the Hockley Valley General store is approximately 90kms, coming back it would all depend if you would want to take the route mapped out by c7 or go your own ways... but expect at least around 90kms again before you see a gas station.

4. SNACKS/DRINKS: You're welcome to bring your own food/drinks of course, but no BBQ is permitted, and ALCOHOL is a big NONO

5. CAMERA: For obvious reasons, but becareful of taking pictures if you're driving, actually I don't recommend it at all.

6. THE RIGHT ATTITUDE: As group leaders we're more or less responsible for the behaviour of the members of TCC, please remember that we're attending this event as a CLUB. Any reckless behaviour/driving will reflect on the club. If you don't think you can act responsible, then STAY HOME. There is a section about behaviour on page 8 of the infopack. Please read it over.

7. WAIVER FORM: Last but not least, everyone (that's driving), MUST have the waiver signed, I cannot stress this enough, it's on Page 18 of the infopack.

That is all I can think of now, I'm sure there are some issues/information that I'm still missing, so group leaders, if you have insight/additional comments please pm me and I will edit the thread, or just post up what you think should be added. Once again I would stress that everyone please read the infopack, and everything that I have put up on this thread before asking any questions.

I'd like to thank Kathryn (Surfofpink), Mark (MY_SiR), and Sam (Jooksingkid) for being great group leaders as well and without the help from them none of this could've been organized this well. As well as the c7 staff that have been helpful and friendly throughout this process. Thanks guys.

I think the police are actually involved in this...I mean they know about it. Judging by the pics of last years event they were hanging out with a few cops...

The police are aware of the cruise and will be watching out for our safety. They have worked together with C7 to make it an enjoyable day. HoWEVER-YOU are responsible for the legality of your actions and your vehicle. (see waiver)
During the cruise I will be at the front of the pack and will have an FRS radio to warn everyone of what is coming (eg. pedestrians, sharp turns, train tracks, small children, cows having sex etc.) On the pre-cruise there was 2 sets of train tracks (not bad), one pressed gravel road (still ok for travel) , one dip at the bottom of a hill that could potentially bottom out a low car if not taken at proper speed, and one very sharp turn that everyone will be aware of and you have to slow right down to get around. So I hope that takes care of that!

we'll tell you that at the premeet. There won't be a sub channel because some people won't have them on their FRS

Now that's what I'm afraid of...will it take off my front lip??? how low you're probrably asking.!!.let's just say you can just fit your foot under my front lip..thats how low!

will it cause any damage even though I got super slow??

i'm usually up and around the forks of the credit area...driving...
my car isn't lowered at all, stock ride height...and some dips...it kinda gets bad....even for my non lowered car. . .
depends on the route we take...if we take Kennedy road all the way...it gets bad at times......not extremely bad....but if u go slow, play it safe...u should be fine......on these roads u can't even go fast.....it'z frigign suicide
if it'z just straight Hurontario...then ur safe. . no worries. . .
