Exclamation *** June 25, 2005 TCC Summer Bash ***

Date: Saturday, June 25th, 2005 – Noon time to evening
Destination: Kingston, Ontario
Who is invited: Everyone

I am calling a cruise/meet to Kingston, Ontario in late June. The reason behind this is to organize a gathering in advance in hope for a better turn out because we have enough time on hands to set our schedules. And school should be done by then, even high schools.

Final gathering spot is open, but Kingston is where I like us to be. Can hondagurl19 or anyone who is from Kingston give us some insights on a good meeting spot, preferably a strip mall or a mega mall that has lot of free parking spaces, with restaurants close by. I don’t know any car clubs at Kingston or how people there in terms of tuner “scene”, so if is a regular thing in Kingston, like in GTA, I suppose we should be fine. If it is not, then we, as a group, need not to attract attentions upon ourselves. By that, I mean don’t just occupy parking spaces and act as if it is free like the air you breath. Frequent the restaurants so you are actually giving businesses to them which give you a legitimate reason to stay in that parking lot.

Couple game rules I think we should all comply:

1) Drive responsibly – this is almost like a family event. You can bring your family, wife/husband, kids, friends, or even parents to this. I do hope June 25th can be a sunny day so it will be a nice day to drive around and enjoy the scenery. You don’t need to drive fast to impress anyone. You want people to respect imports and tuners like us, start acting proper on your own behalf.

2) Park like you can actually park. Park your car between the yellow lines. Again, we are most likely going to a private property so do remember that there are other folks using the same facilities as we are going to. Respect others.

3) Music level – if you like music and wish to play it, please keep it in a respective level. From what I understand, Kingston is a nice quite Town with rich history and a lot of tourists in the summer time. Do everyone a favour because we are not going to a night club.

4) Garbage. For those who smoke, please try your best to put out your cigarette butts in a coffee cup. 1 cigarette butt might not seem a lot in a big parking lot, but they add up. You might say others do that but it is not a contest to see who can smoke the most cigarettes in a day. Please keep the area clean so we don’t bring unwanted troubles or headaches to the local folks. And everyone who eats, or drinks, please tosses garbage accordingly in the designated garbage cans. If there isn’t one, please bring a small grocery bag (A&P, Dominions... etc) and just gather the garbage there, then toss out at once. I know some of you will still throw things around but for those who don’t and are trying to keep the environment clean, a big “Thank you” in advance.

What kind of car to drive? Any car. This is not a car show (you can think that way if you wish) but mainly a function to gather club members and paid members. Let’s throw “clean”, “JDM”, “show car” and terms alike out of the window and just enjoy the day ok? So if you want to drive your JDM ride, go right ahead. If you want to drive your show car, please do. If you want to drive your stock Civic, no problem. If your car breaks down the last minute and you are taking your mother’s Dodge Durango, sure.

Please do not link this thread to other forums. Let’s do it by word of mouth. If your buddy wants to come, please do. But once it is posted on other forums, things could get out of control. This is not a C7 cruise, and I am not going to find an open grass field for 300 cars to park at once. This is a TCC event, and outsiders are totally welcome, but it is on Need-To-Know basis. If all goes well, then we might be able to do the same thing again next year, or even a couple months after. So you want to have a good time, then let’s all help ourselves to one by not ******* up the first time.

GTA Pre-Meet

Cars are to be gathered up at Kennedy Common in between the times of 11:15AM to 12:00PM. That should give you enough time to have breakfast, washroom break, stock up water or snacks, and get some gas nearby. We will depart for Kingston at 12:00PM sharp. People that have FRS are welcome to bring them. Those who know what sub channel to use can inform everyone else before we leave. A location map will be posted once we finalize the final spot at Kingston.

Local Area Pre-Meets can be organized if people from that area wish to. I am not going to tell you where to meet or when to meet. You know the final departure time, so you either make it, or you will find the group at Kingston. Or if you are lucky, you will find some of us on 401 East.

Let’s respect each other, and make this a good event. I am not going to start a roll call list yet because the final location hasn’t been decided. You can keep this even in mind and schedule your time if you like.

Thanks

That's my birthday, so I'll probably be a no-go for this one. Sound like a cool cruise, Nova; hopefully you can find nice spot to chill at. I'd suggest trying to find a back route into the city so that you don't have to spend the whole trip on the 401.

that's so far...

if there's gonna be an affiliate event that weekend maybe plan it for another weekend..

i donno a cruise is cool and call but we'll be doing 100 on the highway for 3 hours... it's pretty mundane IMO, i'm not a huge fan of highway driving ever since i worked in barrie/innisfil/penetang while living in 'sauga for 6 months.

Something else to think about.....6 hrs of driving in one day.

If we were to leave TO at noon...arrive in Kingston at 3ish, stay for two hours, then leave at 6 for another 3hr drive.

why not try and get some numbers and get a group rate at a hotel/motel?

go to a bar or something after.... bar hopping actually.

they're all in walking distance.

Who wants to drive me? lol j/k
I'd be down but six hours of driving just to hang out for a couple of hours isn't really what I call fun. Like Brice said maybe we should get a hotel?

Ohmygod, you T.O. people can be so LAZY!!!

I might consider going, but only if I know I'll be meeting at least some fellow TCCers around my age. No offense to the teens and 20 year olds as many of you here seem very nice, but I need at least one or two people who are on the other side 25 to at least not feel like an old geezer
