Various tire sizes for 2006 Civic?
Hi there, I apologize if this has been asked before.
What are the various tire sizes and rim offsets that would fit a 2006 civic cpe ex?
Basically Im looking to buy used snow tires for my car. My tire size is is 205/55/16.
If I cant find tires of that size, I would have to go with rims/tires combo, any size that would be close to the original.

You want to go to a smaller rims size (the smallest that will fit on your car, which is 14 or 15" I think) and go with a skinnier tread width, but keep the overall tire diameter as close to stock size as possible.
Here's a link to a tire size calculator: Tire size calculator
What you do is input your stock tire size on one side and you can figure out the correct alternate size on the other side. It'll show you the difference in diameter. Again you want to get the diameter as close to factory size as possible, this way your speedometer will remain accurate.
The reason for going to a smaller rim is that the tires will cost less than tires for larger rims and will also allow for a taller sidewall and more tire-flex which will help on ice. The reason for going to a skinnier tire is that will give you better traction in snow.
It's worth it to have your snow tires on a separate set of rims anyways instead of paying a shop twice a year to have the tires changed on the rims and re-balanced every time.
So for example, your stock size is 205/55R16. You could go with a 185/65R15 for a snow tire. The diameter remains nearly the same which is what you want, it'll cost less and give you better traction in the winter.
