Tire Size for 8th gen...???
I'm pretty sure I can put on 215 width on my OEM 16 inch (5 spoke) alloy rims? It comes with 205 mm.
Is there any harm or disadvantage on doing this? Will I lose some speed or power? Will it affect my speed guage dial reading?
Thanks

215 or 205 is the width of the tire. As long as you keep height proportional to OEM spec it should be fine. Just remember that the next number the 45/50/55 or whatever it is, is not a set number but its a ratio according to width. Meaning 205/45r16 will have shorter sidewall compared to 215/45r16.
Otherwise I'm sure 215 will mount up on a stock rim.

I called Max Motorsport in Mississauga. The dude refused to sell the 215 on my OEM 16 inch rims. He said it would rub my fender. I told him people buy 17 inch rims and put on 225/45/17 tire on them. But he still refused. WTF.
Is this normal for a retailer to refuse???

for example, to find overall outside diameter of 205/45R16 :
sidewall height= 45% of 205 = 92mm X 2 (both sides of rim) = 184mm
convert to inches = 184/25.4= 7.25"
add rim diameter = 16"+7.25"= 23.25" overall diameter of rim and tire.
as long as you stay within 1 or 2 inches of OEM your speedo will be fine. What you have to watch out for is the width, you dont want to be rubbing your inner fenders when you turn etc.

Yes stock ride height. I'm still shopping around. I'm looking into Kumho all season. My budget is $100 per tire. Small budget. So it's tough. I have to do my research really good. Cause I can't afford to keep buying tires. What is the best brand for $100 a tire?

I decided to stick with OEM size cause I got a good deal with a set of Bridgestone RFT. Plus they are a popular size. Lots of options in case I need to do an emergency replacement. Now I need to find a good brand of tire polish. The ArmorAll gel sucks!
