Rear caliper issue

Well my rear driver side caliper seized up on me so I picked up a reman and slapped it on. My issue now is that the brake pedal pretty much goes down 3/4 way down before really applying the brakes spongy like.
Tried bleeding and bleeding and then bleeding again with no difference at all . Didn't have an issue before replacing that caliper and there are no leaks at all .
Anyone have any ideas???

no I put the same pads back on. The rotor and the pads have about 10,000km or less on them so they are fairly new.

Is it leaking? if not, your must not be bleeding them properly. It can be a big PITA sometimes.

My guess would be that you didn't bleed it properly and some air is still getting in the lines.

also, pressure check your system and look for leaks (get a friend to hold down the pedal after bleeding, and inspect all brake lines, flex hoses, bleeders, calipers, etc for leaks)

It really takes two people to do a good bleeding; one at the pedal and one at the caliper. Make sure when you want to tighten the bleeder valve you tighten it as the pedal is being slowly pressed down, not at the bottom or top of travel because air can be sucked back in.

O.P. Were there 2 of you bleeding the brakes? (one on the pedal and one on the bleeder)

Just a refresher for ya:

With the bleeder closed, pump pedal 3-4 times or until firm, hold the pedal down, crack the bleeder for 1-2 seconds, close the bleeder, release brake pedal and repeat ,pumping-hold-open-close-release, until pure fluid coming out, no air.
