impact driver?!

Went to do my front brakes today, and whoever did them last is either hella buff or they used an impact driver on the pads. I can't get the bloody things off!

The tires came off no problem but is there something I can use to loosen, or otherwise help, get these bloody things off?!

Impact driver on the pads? I don't get what you mean?

The only impact driver used on brakes are for the rotor set screws.

The only thing I used an impact driver was for rotors. You said pads? All you need to do is take out one 12mm (I think) bolt from the top or bottom off the slider, and the whole calliper will flip up.
If you are doing the rotors, make sure, and I can't stress this enough, use a philips bit that IS the right size. Those screws strip so easy, and its a pita to drill them out.

I bought one impact drive from princess auto and it was complete garbage. Checked out ones at canadian tire and it looked flimzy also. I ended up getting another one from Variety tools, came in a case with 4 bits. 2 philips and 2 flat head. This drive has been through some rough jobs and is still working flawlessly. Spend the money on tools once, have it for good

Even using the proper tools, I've had at least one of these screws on each wheel strip at some point, forcing me to drill them out.

I used to put them in hand-tight and use anti-seize so they will come out easily next time, but now I don't even bother with them anymore.
