Good place to buy new summer rims & tires
I currently have 15's on my '98 Civic hb lowered with H&R Sport springs and am looking to purchase a new set of 17's. I'm looking at getting something like this:
Rim: 5Zigen FN01R-C 17X7 4-100 42SMF
Tire: 205/40-17
Can anyone recommend a good place to buy something like this and have them balanced and put on?
Thx,
Paul

Hey Paul. I recommend the if you are lowered I wouldnt go any bigger then 16's. I had 17's on my integra when it was at stock height which was fine but once it was lowered I ran into rubbing problems. I have a feeling you would run into same problems as I did. I would stick with 15's but if you want something slightly larger go with 16's.
And a place to get them well try kijiji see if you can get them used and save yourself some coin. If new there are lots of site tirerack wheelsnext etc. Or go to local shops and they can order it from your such as optionJDM or Nextmod.

If you want 17's just for the looks and thats what floats your boat, then by all means.
But know that 17's (or larger rims in general) have a lot of negative aspects attached to them when using them on a car like a civic. Such as:
-They are significantly heavier
-The lower profile of the tire will give a much rougher ride and you'll feel every little bump and crack in the pavement
-They decrease acceleration
-Depending on the tire they can decrease cornering grip (tire can be over-loaded easier)
-Cost for tires is significantly higher then 15/16"
Basically you'll be paying a lot more for less performance.
If you do go with a bigger rim, it's most important to keep the tire diameter as close to stock as possible. Google "tire size calculator" to help you determine which tires size will be best.

Thanks for the advice. I heard Tires23 is a good place to buy new rims & tires. I may end up going with 16's then.
I also want to find a place who can properly adjust the camber after the new tires are on.... as I'm noticing heavy inside wear on my current Kumho Ecsta Supra tires. Anyone know any good places for doing both balancing and camber adjustment???

^There is no camber adjustment with the stock suspension components.
You have to install adjustable front upper control arms and either use longer bolts with washers or install adjustable rear upper control arms as well.
Just remember; the bigger the rim, the heavier they will be and the more expensive the tires will be.
