Braking Problem

I need some help.I drive a 99 Civic si and I have just noticed during this past snowfall that when I get into a little bit of a slide with my brakes applied i can hear a loud humming noise (like a pump) and my brake peddle is grabbing and pulsing like mad. This is definately not normal. Maybe a sensor or ABS problem but my ABS light isnt on?? Any help would be appreciated? Thanks
