Where is the block stamp exactly?

I want to read the engine block stamp... but I have no idea where it is.

My car is currently in a parklot at the mechanics... so I'm going to head over their and have a look for the block code... but I don't know where to look...?

Is this something I can do from the engine bay by opening the hood or would this be something more involved.

If you can please provide me "idiot level" instructions. Like, open the hood, look on the right side near the X which looks like Y....

I've seen close ups of the stamps in the forums here, but not able to see WHERE they are looking to see the stamps...

Oh yeah, one thing worth mentioning... there is not any english on the whole engine (that I've seen) -- just a bunch of japanese characters; I'll include photo links soon, once I get them.

Thanks
Merkley

Niiice... thanks! I found it... although I imagine this is a relatively simple thing, it was still nice to be able to find it...

pretty much every honda is like that. there just might be a lot of dirt covering the code so you'll see a flat square that seems pointless. wipe that off and you should see it
