A basic SOHC engine will probaly cost you $300 to $500 and $200 bills to have someone install it for you assuming you can't do it your'self since your asking this question.

Thumbs up ftw?

ok so i talked to a guy today about motor options and he said that a z6 would be best for what i want..i passed the d15b vtec by him and he said that it is pritty much the same as the z1 vtec-e that i have now and the vtec is only used for economy..any truth to this? that and with the z6 he sais i would be best with a p30 ecu jdm i think he said. that tru? oh and one more thing, he offerd me a 2nd gen b16, complete swap. installed, header, full exhaust, c.a.i, certified and etested for $3500. good deal?

lemme know guys..thanks

I have a d15b in my garage putting down 155whp with a pretty mild N/A build......D15b is definetlly not for fuel aconomy.
But the the 3 stage vtec d15b......Thats a toatlly different story.

how can u certify an engine? A p28 would be the best ecu to use with a d16z6, 3500 is a ripoff fpr a b16. And the D15b is basically a d16z6, there are some d15b's that are the three stage economy vtec but they are pretty rare.

A Z6 is exactly the same as a Sohc vtec ZC.
The only thing the Z6 and D15B share are the same heads.

a p28 IS the computer for a d16z6 and the p08 is the one for the d15b
