JDM B18C GSR Swap INTEGRA

Alright so I made an appointment with TorontoJDM for the swap into my 94 integra, quoted for $2600 with new timing belt, water pump and installation. Although I will still be using my LS tranny. They are also promising me 30 days of warrranty and asked to bring $1000 deposit when I drop the car off?????!?! normally people asked to be paid when the car is ready.

You guys think this is a good deal?

Bringing the car in first thing tomorrow morning, will keep you guys posted.

considering the engine alone is almost $2,000 ($1,952), I'd say that's fairly worth it...roughly $600 for install + belt + pump

Can you even get a full engine swap for less than that??!!

oh btw, won't you need vtec wiring and computer/mapping? and intake manifold?

hahha it's not even a full swap, its $1600 for just the motor alone. I've been doing some research and people are saying gsr motor and ls tranny put together is crap. i might consider doing the full swap with motor and tranny now.

i think they're just goin to soldier the vtec wires other than the harness, it's cheaper. ecu and intake manifold is included with the purchase of the motor.

I just found a heck of a deal, TokyoAutoParts are selling type r full swap for $3400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyone heard from these guys before they're located in Brampton.

3400 is probably the 96-97 ITR engine. I spent just over 4000 to put in a OBD1 B16a swap in a 96 si coupe. But thats a new rad, oem water pump, oem timing belt, stage1 exedy clutch and 7.5lbs Fidanza flywheel, obd2a to obd1 Rywire harness and mounts, new battery and some other misc things. I have a list of everything i put that day and how much i spent i remember it came out to just over 4gs.

And the motor had 52000km cause i went half with a friend when we bought the front clip of a JDM Del Sol. I think thats the best route so you know what your getting. JDMland in Mississauga, the guy has been around for over 15-20yrs from other places he worked at like Lucky Star back in the days.

don't waste your time/money swappin in a GSR if you're gunna use the LS tranny, you'll be disappointed for sure.

That doesn't seem like anything special of a deal to me. I know I charge $600 in labour alone to do a swap and that includes all fluids, hoses and ecu chipping. Like someone else said, you can grab a GSR engine for around $1600 from other importers. A timing belt and water pump retail around $250 from honda.

I'm not 100% sure but i think some of you guys are complaining about 100-200 bucks and buying a engine at one place and having it installed at another ? is your time worth nothing and how is the warranty going to be handled , by the installer or the seller ? i dont see any problem at all for 2600 motor installed with a warranty.

newest updates, ok i went to TokyoAutoParts this morning and picked up the 96 spec JDM B18C Type R, and gave the guy $3000 coming with 1 motor mount(yes only one), p73 ECU, and S80 LSD tranny.

Now i just got to wait until Monday to bring it in the shop. igarage will be charging me $580 (labour) + $240 (NEW OEM HONDA timing belt and water pump) = $820

Motor also has harness, IM, EM, Distributor and all of that.

Hahaha $100-$200 is a lot of money these days, that's like 2-4 tanks for gas right there.

yah bro, it has been a big jump. People are saying there is no point in gettin a GSR with LS tranny on it. So the "Go big or go home" thought hit me. I think it's better in value in terms of performance that I will be getting.

well.. i hope you're planning on keeping your car for a long time and i hope the rust is at a minimal on it. From what I understand you're spending $4000 on an engine/install in a car that probably isn't worth more than that.

i dont think its uncommon for mods to cost more then the cars when dealing with cars as old as ours. i have already spent 1/3 the price of my car on mods and i havent really done anything
