there was a great write up on the site before the version 5.

Overall its pretty straight forward and generally the only problamatic part is the bolts that connect to the shock on the rear control are (seized busings)

Are you planning on doing this yourself? what car ? what kind of coliover ? full or the spring, and adjuster? if its just the cheepy stuff save yourself a lot of headaches and buy new shocks as well tokico blues are popular and cheap.

My point is you need to be more specific however the first step is getting the shocks out.

Sweet JDM coilover springs !!! I know it's a civic, what year ?

Well installing those adjustable spring will limit the life of your stock OEM shocks to about 2 months after that you ll hate driving and eventually your dash will fall off and you can t drive over train tracks. If you can t do it right I wouldn't do it at all. I suppose you are not getting a camber kit either...?

A lot of ppl will agree with me, those coilover sleeve are junk and nothing but a headache. Save up more money and find yourselve a used set of full coilovers, or a nice shock/spring combo. Not only will they last longer, they will also provide better proformence. Finally with out a camber kit you'll also need new tires in about 1 month depending on your drop anything over 2 inches.

okay okay... I still don t know what car so here is a general. take the tire off remove the bolts that connect the shock to the lower control arms and the break lines then remove the bolts from the top side. make sure you're knuckles are well supported put like a medium size can of paint underneath them espacially if you end up taking out the upper control arm. once the shocks are out carefull remove the bolts that keep it all together the top hat will go flying unless you compress the spring but its not necessary just be careful. reassemble the shock with the new spring set up and reinstall.

Take your time, if you don t know what you are doing.

3.5/5 difficulty.. you ll need a decent rachet set 17mm and 14mm mostly, hammer, johnson bar, anti seize and some kind of deoxidizer not WD-40.

You can get a spring compressor pretty cheap at princess auto. Be sure to use penetrating oil on the bolts. And if your planning on changing your shocks, stay away from the tociko blues, they suck.

Ive done it without a spring compressor and survived. just do it on the grass stay clear of the top hat and put a foot on the shock. It wasn t like a big deal or anything the top hats maybe flew 2 feet.

They worked fine on mine. Kind of a pain in the *** to get them on though. Maybe we have different sets.
