Hi i have a 98 civic with obd1 conversion with a b18c1 running a p72.
Not sure if the ECU is chipped or not, vtec runs 5300-8400.

Cel codes im getting are 23 and 21.
I think code 23 is knock sensor, and code 21 is vtec seleniod. My vtec kickcs fine though 1st-3rd gear, (you can hear it for sure in 1/2 gear) not sure about 4th or 5th gear never get the car up that fast cuz of 50 over laws ... Any input as to what the problems may be. Car runs fine, idles good.. Engine oil level is good as well.

for code 21 you should check you vtec solenoid connector. check the pin continuity and resistance i think it should be 14-30 ohms if bad change the vtec solenoid. if all okay there check from the ecm to connector for continuity if all is good swap your ecu with a good one to see if the code still comes back. code 23 change the knock sensor simple
