car doesnt heat up. integra
hey got a question for one of my buddies...
his car is having a lot of trouble getting warm. like i drove it for about an hour last night. and the temp gauge never left the cold position...and when u go to turn on the heat...u can feel that its a little warm...but defiantly not as hot as it should be.
anyone know what the possible problem is? what does he have to do?

getting warmer
Here's the thing... might not be just thermostat..
My 99 civic barley gets warm from normal driving.. i fing that when im hard on it (like a hwy run for an hour) at speeds around 140+ the car finally gets to temperature and the thermostat is working because it stays at operating temp... if the thrmo was pooched and i drove the car to the point of the coolant failing that car would over heat.. having said that.. that was stock...
Then i gave the car a forced induction upgrade!!
I though the car would run alot hotter. I thought to myself.. "well it ran so cold all the time..maybe this will even things out alittle"
no dice.. still ice cold! Could be because the intercooler is huge the air from the blow off valve will freeze your hand in no time...
I've just been putting up with it and useing my remote starte twice in the morning..
My thought was to put lower temp thermo in it.. seeing as the freezing cold air is helping cooling anyway.. not in the engine but help draw heat from the head because the intake is so cold..
My thoughts...

Your thoughts are wrong.
Don't listen to this guy.
The proper way to test your thermostat is to use a thermo-gun. I have one. I'm in Oakville, if you want me to check it out pm me.
Or you can use the hose method.. which only requires the feel of your hands
