trans vin metal tag no white sticker.

So ive been told this trans is jdm,but ive read that if the trans has a metal tag with a vin type tag rivited to the trans it means it is a usdm. any thoughts, the first 3 letters are EM1, i googled that and looks like it came with a usdm 99-2000 civic si.

EM1 is the USDM Civic Si (SiR up here in Can where we are) I don't know if there's any real difference between a JDM B16 trans and a USDM unless we're talking about Type R B16B which there never was a USDM one and that would be EK4 or EK9

I can neither confirm nor deny the part about the vin tags tho.

Question

thx dusty, and good to hear there maybe no difference.as you may remember from my other posts i was trying to power up my soch, but gave up and finally found a B16A, unfortunatly the person wasnt completly ,either honest or knowledgeable about what hen was selling, but yay, got me a B16A I am thinking its obd2 bc its hooked up to the stock ecu on a 2000 civic si, but will know more when I CAN GET IT ON A HOIST AND LOOK AT dam cap lock, look at O2 sensors, if there is any, lol.

Is e-testing an issue up where you are? If so then there will be a bit of an issue with EVAP stuff, if not then you may be able to trick the ecu for certain things your car doesn't have, but easiest is probably to convert the swap and your car to OBD1. Easier for tuning as well.
