This thread is pointless. A six point cage is the max we are talking about here. A proper six point cage has a bar right behind the drivers seat for a 5 point harness to be bolted to. So even if you were rearended your seat is not going to go through that bar for your head to hit the bar at your rear pillar. Six point cages also have a bar that comes down on a 45 degree angle from 3/4 of the way up from your pillar bar to the floor. Nowhere near your head. Maybe your elbow or waist. But there is such a thing as pull out bars that you can remove when your on the street so you don't have to jump over bars to get in the car. If its strictly cosemetic thats a waste of money but not hazardous. remember its your money your spending, you dictate what you want not them. If its a track car then build a track cage, if its a street car that sees mild track duty then customize it to suit your needs. There are more then one way to skin a cat. But in my years of seeing performance cars on the street I have yet to see someone die from hitting their head on their rollcage and I have been driving for 17 years now. This thread is totally over dramatized.

A. Well done bringing up a thread that is 5+ years old.
B. Harnesses are illegal on the street.
C. I'm guessing the cage is bolt in, therefore it won't even pass most of the track inspections, so really its all for show and not functionality.

^The stickies are here because they still hold valuable information. If some one has a question about the topic, I'd rather they bring it back up again instead of starting a new thread...lol

JDMEF3838: The roll cages that are dangerous to the occupants are the full cages. They have bars that run right by your head. With a helmet on, there is no issue in an accident. Without a helmet, your head can smash against the bar, causing severe injury or death.
