Hi, I am about to install my new axle but not sure which direction the seal points as the set up is different from the drivers side. And the seal must have gone in the disposal with the old axle.

If you mean 're installing an axle and the seal in the trans, then the seal always goes with the side you can see the spring coiled around the seal on the inside towards the trans. flat side out.

I did install it that direction and it leaks. The set up is different than the left side which allows the seal to be tapped in. Not so on the passenger side it just sits on the metal flange there is no way to tap it in. See attached pic.

I wish the attached pic was here but I don't see it. Both axle seals should have a recessed area that the seal sits in. It should be a fairly snug fit at that.
