Mazda mx3

Boys, I've always loved the Mazda MX-3 I think they look pretty decent and are good for tuning and daily driving. What caught me especially is that the stock GS comes with 1.8L V6 engine! That pulls about 135HP (127kW), with slight mods it looks pretty good and if you do a KLZE swap you could have a killer car on the road for cheap! You can get them for about 1-2G's so its really tempting

The Precidia is a chick car, plain and simple.

But hey, whatever floats your boat.

^ agreed

A 1.8 v6? didnt know that... But it only produces 135 hp?

B18b1 can produce 145? HP with a 4.

Sounds like unnecessary weight.

ps: that car looks like it has 3 bumpers mounted on top of each other.

^^ loll
But yeah a 1.8L v6? And I thought the vw vr6 engines were underpowered lol. You will be waisting gas with the 6cyls and will have no power. Ofcourse the klze swap would make it worth it, but what would be the cost of parts/labour?
I'd rather stick with Honda's and B-series engines.
Ps. I know bunch of probe guys say that they have a v6 from Mazda, don't know the displacement, but if this is anything like that...its damn slow. My sohc Si was faster than that :P

Dude if you think this is a chick car, what can we say about Honda Civic Hatchbacks. It produces 135HP on a 1.8L engine which I think is pretty good because it gets pretty good gas millage also, VR6 engines are 2.5L + and produce around 180ish HP and 2.5L KLZE produces 200HP and would most likely smoke a VDub The stock 1.8L Golfs are like 90HP so its a big change, just my 2 cents, I think its a pretty good car.

Hey man, it doesn't matter what the engine is or what power it produces. The Precidia is perceived to be a chicks car by lots of people, but if you like, go ahead and buy it.

Vr6's are 2.8 6cyl, its not a v6, don't believe me? Look it up. I've been around vw's for long enough. It makes just under 180HP. I believe its 175'ish. Even with the o2a transmissions which are geared lower than others, those cars are still slow. Best I've seen was 15.97 that my buddy ran after about 50passes lol. Somehow my ls keeps up with him and yet I don't burn as much gas. Bet you any money that the MX3 is the same way. There is greater potential out of the 6cyl motors yet its all $

I'll just bite my tounge here cause I have nothing nice to say about the MX3. A 1.8L V6 that only makes 135hp is pretty sad. My 1.6L 4-banger makes 160hp from the factory. I've raced a precidia at the strip with a 1.8L V6 and it was no contest, it just couldn't keep up...

i happen to like both the mx3 and vw's of almost any kind because i work on vws every day and my buddy has a klse mx3 and yes lots of money to up keep and nothing but problems but it handles pretty good. but both mx3 and vr6 i would have to agree they are a waist of wight and money but on the one hand if its a 24 valve vr6 it has just over 200 hp and it is pretty quick also sounds great but thats about it it handles like a brick because of all the wight up front. at the end of the day i would much rather a honda my first car was a honda and thats always were my hart will be but hey to each is own
