I had a 92 s13 for about two years, it was a fun car but a piece of **** .....meaning a rust pocket with no real power (KA powa). I junked it in september 08 and bought my first civic 95 hatch this april . So far Im loving the civic cheap gas and lots of aftermarket support, Dont get me wrong if I get another chance with the s chassis Im taking it.
The s13 is my favourite car hands down but they're all most impossible to find without frame rot and body rust. +1 millon for the nissan 240sx, +2 millon for the s chassis haha

I'm bumping this thread to the top because I'm buying my first car (not the first car I've driven, just the first car that will be MINE) in the next week or two and as I'm browsing around an interesting 240sx caught my eye.
Is there a toronto 240sx site that you guys like to chill on as well? I'm trying to gather as much info as I can on 240 swaps and just on the car in general. I'm reading a lot about body issues. Rusty rocker panels and such. Anything I should be aware of or specifically check on a 95 nissan 240sx? (going thursday with my mechanic to check it out). It's only got 150k km's on it. body and interior look MINT. Haven't seen the engine yet, but I know it's a KA (damn..)
Any info is much appreciated.
The original car I was looking for was a 99-00 civic SI couple. Would be a manual. What do you guys think. Better to buy a civic or buy a 240 for my first car? I know the civic is a bit lighter, but the 240 has more torque (even with the KA, but once I do an SR20DET swap....oh boy..)
Thanks

I have both a civic (daily driver) and 240 (track mainly), and I'll tell you that I love my civic as it's a lot more comfortable. Keep in mind, my 240sx is pretty much just a race car now. (Solid motor mounts shake the car a lot too.)
And civics are a LOT lighter. My 92 Civic VX is 2094lbs. 240s are 2700lbs but that 99 Civic SI is only about 100lbs lighter than the 240.
Civics are also generally more reliable and parts are a lot cheaper and easier to come by. The only rust issues you see on Civics are mainly the rear quarter panels. 240s rust everywhere.
And stock SRs are overrated. Don't think you're going to be better than Honda guys just before you have a SR in your 240.
Do more research first.

sr's are mad gay? mine is pushing 340 whp and the torque is unreal. obviously your a rb kind of guy but the only respectble rb is the 25 for 240sx due to powr handability and cost of engine/swap into a 240sx. i personally love the 240sx but wont be able to get my hands on one till insurance comes down thats why i spent a stupid amount of money to get one put into a d21.

I'm in. My daily driver is an rb26 powered s13. I pulled the 26 last season to build it and dropped in an rb25 temporarily that's pushing mid 4xxrwhp on 20psi. I built the 26 to a 2.74L with a Trust T88-34D. It will be coming back out after the winter with about 8xxrwhp...
But that's just me. lul.
My s13 is the first car I ever owned back when I was 14, I've been building it for the past 6 years (I'm 20 now), and it will always be the only car I will ever be completely into. Love everything about them!
