can a head gasket leak oil into anifreeze and block the heater core?

ok here it goes first sorry if I posted in the wrong forum I didn't see a general tech forum so I thought this was the closest. so basically my question is the title heres the story I was driving my civic all last winter and the windows would fog up and I thought it was very strange that the windows would get so foggy but passed it off as just cigarette smoke causing the fog. Toward the end of the winter is when my eyes would burn and I noticed a tiny bit of smoke coming from under the dash and knew something wasnt right turned out the heater core was f'ed the whole time. so i ended up taking out the dash and replacing the heater core and the heater core seemed all gunky and stuff. so I put everything back together with a new core and hoses and driving it with the heat on I still felt my eye burn a little . that was the end of that car i got another one and its been parked since. So thinking about what might be happening I came up with the theory that since my head gasket has a small leak well I think its the head gasket anyways that oil is leaking into the antifreeze which is then clogging up the heatercore or I'm just trippin. If someone could tell me if this is possible or had an experience similar to mine any feedback would be appreciated I have the car parked and my friend wants to buy it but I wouldn't be comfortable selling to him knowing he might be breathing that crap I wouldnt even want to sell it to a stranger like that it wouldnt be right. so let me know if replacing the heater means problem solved or if the problem might still be happening because of the oil leak I tried looking into a tester to test the air to find out forsure but havnt found anything on the internet to test the air with. so respond with info if you can please

if there is oil leaking into the coolant then yes you probably have oil in your heater core. check the water valve too (against the firewall) as this might be clogged or damaged. A little bit of oil wont hurt the engine coolant but if your problem has been present for awhile then you have a bigger problem to tackle.
