Power wire length for Stereo install in EG6?
Hey Guys\Girls,
I'm a noob, so bare with me ... I'll be doing a stereo install in my EG6 once it gets warm enough ... I'm planning on running 1\0 guage power wire from the battery (stock location) to the trunk area before it hits the distribution block. And since 1\0 guage wires aren't exactly cheap, I wanna know that I'm buying enough, and not toooo much or worse yet ... too little.
So those of you that've done an install in a EG6, roughly how many feet of wire did you end up using? Which way (pass\driver side) did you route it through the car?
While you're at it ... what length RCA cables did you guys use? 20' RCA's too long?
Its a '92 Si ... if that makes a difference.
Thanks
Thuwa

16ft should be more an enough from the battery to the trunk for the power wire. 3ft or so for a ground. Here's an interesting article on wire. Copper Wire Vs. Copper Clad Aluminum Wire http://www.caraudiomag.com/features/...ire/index.html IMO get the good stuff first time around.
For RCA cable how many channels are you going to need? Stinger makes a 6 channel version fyi. Easy to route one rca cable vs 3 pairs.
I wouldn't go all too fancy unless you get them for cheap. Streetwires, Stinger here retail can be very $$$$. However every once in a while some ebay sellers have streetwires ZN3 and above for cheap. Also If your good with heat shrink and a soldering you could always make your own. I know of a seller on ebay selling bulk Streetwires ZN5 ends. A good way to save a little coin and make exact fit lengths.

Hold The Phone!!
You're not the same starboy869 from DIYMA are ya?
Well, I just sent an e-mail to jacks music factory to see if they'll make some custom length rca's for me.
Now, I gotta track down some quality power cable for a decent price.
