Question Lowering my 2002 Honda Civic

Hello... I have a 2002 Honda civic Si 2 door and i am in the process of lowering it. i have 17" rims on it and 45 series tires. I need to lower it enough to look good but also not to have problems in the winter. I was considering going with the skunk2's that give u a 2" drop. As of now i dont have ne body mods. Will this 2" drop be too much for the snow on my stock wheels, or should i be alright? please help.. thanks.

Not too many people on TCC have a 7th Gen Civic, so I would look here http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=44 for answers first. I have H&R Sports on my 03. Not too low, but low enough to get rid of the wheel gap. 1.5"f/1.3"r. Eibach and Neuspeed are a little lower, but still under 2".

If you want a 2" drop, I would be more concerned with camber/alignment issues and poor ride quality if you have stock shocks then getting stuck in the snow.

Im riding on Neuspeed sports, 1.7 in the front, 1.5 in the rear, though the rear drop is not 1.5 as advertised...great ride, no camber problems and it looks great..I am also riding on 17'' rims.

Shaun..
that's probably reversed..

the front drop is usually greater to level off the car..

i've got the sportlines (well had) 1.5 front and 1.7 rear
swapped out the rears for the pros with a 1" drop to level off the car after the ICE install..

sits sweet now..

Yes you should buy new shocks and struts. Blown front struts for the 7thgen civic is a known, and common issue.

You should get aftermarket shocks and struts if your going to lower your car. I would just get a full coilover suspension kit. Its the best way to go. It may cost a lot more though.

I dunno. I would just recommend you get full coilover suspension. I think 2" drop is good for our cars.

I say, if you do something, you do it right the first time. It'll just cost you more afterwards.

I've been told this by Honda as well, thats why I only did a mild drop on my car. The struts, well on my 7th gen there making noises and will be replaced on Wednesday by my local dealer. It all comes down on what your comfortable with. If your going to do a ricer drop then yeah, get a full coil over package and save your wallet the agony of having to replace blown shocks and struts every 3 months.

I'll sell you my neuspeeds if you want, there coming off in 2 weeks or so...PM me.

I lowered my civic and now it won't shift into 2nd. Had no problems shifting prior to putting the lowering springs on.
