Ball joint replacement?

Ball joint replacement?

anyone know how to replace these?



i busted up one ball joint when taking off the steering rod....




how much do they cost at dealerships?

they arent too cheap at the dealership, i think liek 100 or so each
strongly suggest you go with oem balljoints rather than aftermarket ones

ball joints

aftermarket ball joints are mine man
i jsut replaced both of mine off my 92 civic
cost me $28 each lol
if yours are original they probably wont have a clip on them jsut need to hammer the s*** of of tehm and u'll get them out
if htey were replacved before under the control are where hte ball joint is there is a clip remove taht clip then hammer them out, not as easy as u think they will take some work to get them out

The ones im doing are under the steering bar, next to the caliper

which are tie rods?

are those that are attached to the steering bar?


any difference between tie rods and ball joints?

i believe you can buy the tie rod ends already pressed into a piece that screws onto the existing rod
but you've gotta mark exactly where you remove the old one, cause this will affect your alignment

Thanks guys.....I figured it out, i found out like you said, that i can buy the whole tie rod end.....

this makes the work ten times easier


I wish the dealership worked today
