just turboed my d series engine and after running it for a bit i took it for a slow cruise and noticed it was blowing smoke from the exhuast and saw that oil was spraying through the turbo into the exhuast down dipe im thinking i need a oil restrictor ? to much oil? i have a decent size drain ...


im using a size four line thats t ed from a 3 line with no restrictor
it pushing a ---- load of oil out and blows alot of smoke


need help PLEASE!

I can see a little after start up but if its persisting like your stating then maybe the turbo oil seal is blown out or really warn out.

im a noob at turbos. where is the turbo oil seal?

A turbo would have two seals on the main shaft. Best to remove and take to a professional who overhauls them.

Find out what specific turbo you have and find out if you need an oil restrictor. Otherwise you're going to spend all that money on rebuilding only to blow it again.

Research before doing mods like this. It will save you a lot of time and money.
