an wats teh 7100 for?
6200rpm is the rpm at which the engine makes it's peak hp. 7100rpm is where the rev-limiter kicks in.

(I know this thread is old, but thought I'd clear that up for anyone who reads through this in the future. Plus lots of useful info here)

also i would l.ike to add to clear things up in the future.... in regards to the EK/EJ thingy. I was told that ALL 96-00 hatches are EK's and EJ's are refered to for the coupe's... is this totally wrong? if so.... people saying that ej guys just wish their car was an ek.... what the hell is a proper ek then? i've googled it and such and what i got was 96-00

Look back to the first post in this thread.

The EJ coupe was from 92-95, not 96-00. And the 99-00 SiR (US Si) coupe is the EM1.

A year later i come with correction, only because i just noticed this.

EJ1/EJ2 was eg coupe.
EJ6/EJ8 was ek coupe.
