1.7 transplant problems

Hello all, seeking some advice on my first Civic. It is a 2003 that I picked up and the engine was overheated and threw a bearing. I bought a used engine that I installed (went well). I stripped all electrical off the new engine and used everything from the original car so it would hopefully work lol. Soooooo, I hook everything up and lights came on but the key was dead, not a click nothing. I had my foot on the brake and could not shift it into any other gears it was stuck in park. So I got underneath and unhooked the shift cable and manually clicked it into gear then back to park. The engine turned over and the car started. I unhooked the booster pack and it stalled. I looked at the alternator and realized I forgot to put the belt on the crank pulley (I was rushing). I removed the power steering pump and put the belt on. Tried to rollover the engine to ensure it was on this time and the the key was dead. Had to crawl under and put transmission in neural to get it to roll over. But the car will not even kick, just rolls over. I even dumped some gas into the throttle body (stupid yes) and it did not kick. One thing is after it would not start I was looking everything over and found one clip on the transmission that I forgot to hook up. So I hooked it up but nothing changed. Also on the dash the park light and gear light do not come on at all to show which gear it is in. At one point they came on but park light was red (assuming shifter position) and whatever gear I had it in was green. Any help would be great. I am guessing I will take some heckling on my procedure lol but Im good for it.
