Question Acura 1.6 el conversion

Hey guys.....im new to this forum and I live in california. I was directed here from another forum. I was told you have a few memebers that have done the 1.6 el or domani conversions. I was wondering how hard is it to do? Does it just bolt on or does it requier some modification? And are their any pics you guys could post or email me so I could take a look at the final product. I have seen on pic but it wasnt really clear...... from the looks of it I think im going to do it but im still deciding, so any help you guys could give me would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone, I directed this guy here and I was hoping EL_CIVIC or any other member with the conversion might be able to help him out. Let's show him what the TCC community is all about and give a helping hand.

Two members have done this conversion...EL_CIVIC on his EK coupe and another member who did it on his purple EK hatch.

BTW: I looks killer on both cars.

k i have done this conversion like on 3 cars including mine i will let u know.....

first off u will need a EK hatch coupe or sedan for a FRONT END CONVERSION.

parts needed are
hood
fenders,
lights,
grill,
light support bar (1 piece instead of the two like on our civics)
bumper
bumper lights
wires
bumper sockets (acura)
turn signal sockets. (acura)

conversion is a simple bolt on thing. BUT if u wanna make the corner turn signals work u will need NEW sockets as the civic sockets are too big. Get it from acura. Same with the Bumper lens since the civics dont come wit bumper lights u will need bumper sockets PLUS wires. what u do is splice the wires into the turn signals BUT u invert them so when the turn signals go off the bumper signals go on. Or u can wire them straight so they are on all the time.

As for the REAR end conversion it can be ONLY done on the SEDANS.

u will need:
trunk
inner lights
outter lights
harness.

This conversion once again is straight bolt on but u will need some wiring experience as the wiring system is completely different cuz for the el's the inner lights go on and off aswell unlike the sedan civics. and the sockets from the old civic harness wont work so u will need the harness from the el one.

I have both conversion done previously to 2 of my cars. So if anyone else needs any help let me know.

I was told that I need the bumper supports also is this true.

no u do not need the rebar.
if ur gonna graft a custom bumper to it i recommend the tsunami front bumper cuz it already comes wit the grill and therefore makin it easier to graft it custom onto the front end. make shure the bodykit is for a ek tho.

This thread is eleven years old. If you try using the search function (in the menu bar above), there may be some information to the question you posed. If not, you could try starting a new thread. Hope that helps.
